The fact that it’s big news where you are on the other side of the world, shows the crazy levels of interest in our royal family. That crazy level of interest brings hundreds of thousands of tourists to the uk every year to see Buckingham palace etc. Those tourists bring money with them, which benefits British businesses and people, from cab drivers to cafe owners to hotels. I could go on and on and on and on and on. Personally I’m proud to live in a country with a queen and a royal family. Yes they are out of touch with the normal world, yes the tax payers contribute to them, but we get that back ten fold. Without them our country is still great, but with them we are even greater. All IMO of course.
