As the title says do you'd chaps have any fresh injury worries for this weekends game? i'm sure you'll have had plenty players away on international duty. any of them come back with their shin bones piercing through their neck etc?
Not 100% sure, we had a lot of players out last month. The only definites that I know will be out are Dawson and Huddlestone. I assume Gallas is out as he pulled up with an injury after getting back to training and Sandro pulled out of the Brazil squad injured but I'm not sure if that'll keep him out.
Think it will just be the same bunch that it has been for the past few games - Dawson, Huddlestone and Gallas the main ones out. Hoping Sandro's withdrawal from the Brazil squad was just a precaution more so than an actual injury.
AFAIK Sandro had a 'calf strain', how serious I haven't a clue. If it's very mild, he might be back for the Toon game. Also, I believe Rose, Lennon and Pienaar are still not ready to play, but we should know much more by Friday/Saturday.
We're Spurs. There's some requirement somewhere that says we're never allowed to field a full strength team, for some reason.
Niko's more likely a tactical sub. Rafa has played almost all Holland's match. which means he'll be knackered for the weekend.
I hope Corluka is ok for Sunday - because Kyle Walker's about to become a dad I believe, so there's a chance he'll miss the Toon game. Much as I love Kaboul, I don't want him at RB, so much better as CB. Naturally I hope Niko and all our players are well and fit, but Corluka's versatility makes him a big miss, if he isn't available.
I never understand that excuse of "I cannot play a game because I've just become a father" I went to work the day after mine was born. There was nothing for me to do in the hospital. I couldn't even get a look in with auties and grandmothers getting in the way. I took two days off when the missus came home. The baby slept for 44 hours during those two days. Once again, there was little to do. Perhaps I'm unique or I've missed something..?
I don't think it's viewed as an excuse these days Inda, apparently it's what 'Dads now do'. I'm not saying it's right or wrong. I think Ledly was wrong to fly home during the Euro championships of 2004 to attend his baby's birth - we may have beaten Portugal had he stayed - it was the one major international championships he had a chance to shine in. My bet now is that he regrets that decision - but I may well be wrong I'm old school enough to remeber in the 60s when fans, let alone players, didn't miss a match just because of a baby. You'd regularly get tannoy announcements - 'will x please go home - your wife has gone into labour/congratulations to y, your wife has just given birth,' etc. The world has moved on - good or bad, I know not. I sure wish Ledley's wife had just waited two more days during that fateful time in 2004. Returning to injury news, Ade is now a doubt with a hamstring injury according to some sites, we'll see soon enough I guess.
Redknapp has said that both Corluka and Kranjcar were taken off for Croatia because of injuries. They were supposed to be getting scans today.
I'm all for missing all events concerning your children save the conception. Other species seem to be so much more sensible about this.
