Capt, dont think sacking Buckle is a good move at the moment. Consistancy is needed. Yes Buckle is a complete dickhead, but cant we afford to sack him? If we could get Reid in, I would say get rid of Buckle, but anyone else good enough and available? IMO no, at least not that we could attract or afford.
anything has to be better than at present , and whoever comes in should have the tasks of 1 keeping gas in L2, 2 building a promo squad fit for promo within 2 seasons. in this you may be lucky as the new man may get out of the existing squad what buckle hasfailed to do or is incapable of doing so. finally do not set sights and hopes too high or the may be more disapointments. the campbells and co are coming!
Dont be daft AJ. Buckle will definately keep us in this league. We are not bad enough to get relegated as proven a few times this season when we turn it on. Its just annoying that Buckle ****s about putting players in the wrong position, baffling subs, fights/fall outs with his own players once a week, blames the fans and everything else but himself for his mistakes and doesn't have a plan B. He needs to sort it out and soon!
Maybe it is all the new players who are fighting for a spot week in week out which is causing some unrest. I believe having a smaller squad does not present fallouts which it must not be easy for some of the Bristol Rovers players week in week out. Having an unchanged side most weeks helps the squad to get to know each other. Maybe the squad is taking longer to gel because of the changes every week.
thats the problem, none of the is fighting. there is no fight, no want, no passion, no nothing apart from plenty of gutless performances. yes we have struggled with injuries but players who step in should perform to keep their place. no one is performing. its like no one is performing for him.
CJS has hit the nail on the head - exactly as it was last season. Once the confidence within the squad drops and also the confidence in the management to make the right decisions, coupled with the lack of leadership - that is when it all starts going t*t* up! And it's going T*TS up right now!
chris with the greatest of respect aj does not do daft. i am telling you how it is. you are 17th, in freefall and buckle may not have the ability or character to lift the confidence and morale of the squad. a win on friday night would help but do not lose sight of the awkward games between now and barnet on the 19th nov. and the mighty shrews only beat them in the 93rd minute. on paper you have a great young manager who has put together a useful squad, in theory you should be in the top 10. why are you not---discuss-
Chris I think AJ's points have merit. I also agree with your point about Buckle lacking a Plan B so I think CJS should've put in his poll selection "Buckle (Arsenic Whinger of League 2)".
Who's going to want to come and put up with this sort of unecessary abuse from a minority of morons anyway? I sometimes wonder whether I'm watching the same games or supporting the same club.
With a heavy heart, I have to say Buckle. It's only October. It's a brand new squad. He's ballsed it up over the last half a dozen matches, but to change managers now would be completely daft.
I kinda agree. I get so angry sometimes that I just say get him out, but really I do think it would be a bad idea to get rid of him right now. Lets see what happens around Xmas first lads and then get rid if it is still ****
Great idea, they were both good when under pressure getting boo'd to **** by your fans, so could definately handle our lot
