I wouldn't blame him if he went to a championship or prem club, he won' have gone unnoticed here. We should try to get him on a season-long loan next season, let him experience our crowd, hopefully play with better new signings, and let him become part of the fabric, its young players like this we should be building our team around.
Seems to love it here. We're on the up. No longer a tin pot run club, we are a very professional run outfit with a young enthusiastic billionaire owner and a family to back him with football pedigree. People are starting to sit up and take notice of Sunderland now. Get promotion and we're knocking on the premier League door. I bet the lad would relish the challenge. Wait till the fans get back in and see his face light up then
If he wants to come I think he will. Dont think it will be another loan if he can walk away free from Wolves end of next season.
If we can get up you never know, but no chance at all if we don't I'd say. His agent will never allow him to sign for a League One club, and he does look better than that anyway. We'll see, but let's just sort the games as they come. Might be out of our price range as well
Nailed it! We can't be seen to be overpaying for players, we have to get value for money. We know all about this lad and what he brings to the table, so we should have a good idea of his true worth. If the price is right I think we'll go for it. I've no doubt that LJ and Speakman will talk to him about what the plans are for this club before his loan deal is up. If he likes it here and he likes what he hears from the management, that could be all that it takes to put us in prime position to sign him.
Anyone know why it took so long for LJ to play him? Worries me that he didn’t notice how talented he is if I’m honest. Literally only played him due to injuries.
He had him on the bench in his first match here ... ... only fair to give our own players the chance to prove themselves in games.
People like me and @Makemstine Roger have been screaming for him to get a start for months. It was so obvious how good he is compared to the likes of Flanagan.
Most people wanted Sanderson and Jones to come in but screaming is pointless, the manager picks the team and he's got the results. The buck stops with him. Some people wanted Burge dropping and that was a disaster, as was Power at left back imo.
I find it mad that even in this great won there’s so much focus on what we haven’t done. LJ is nailing it. Dion and Jones are better than the players who have had more games for sure, but they are our players and we’ve been winning. LJ has my 100% trust right now.
Agree let LJ carry on what he is doing , I would suggest he is doing a more than OK job considering the amount of injuries he has had to contend with . I am also sure that when players are over their injuries he will know who he thinks NEEDS to put back in to the team whilst others perhaps will have to wait for their opportunity . In LJ we trust !
Sometimes you can only judge a player/system/situation by trying it out in a match ... ... I think he's made a few mistakes but he doesn't persevere with them as Ross and Parkinson did.
Tell you what I love with LJ. Under Parky every win was ‘magnificent’ every draw he’d say ‘we played really well’ LJ ‘we didn’t play great but well done lads on the result’. Absolute chalk and cheese mentality.
