Despite their recent form I think they'll still get a European spot but if they don't, I reckon Klopp is safe but I wouldn't be surprised if a couple key players wanted out. Salah's been linked with Madrid for a few windows now so they'd lick their lips if they knew Pool need money and I can't imagine players like van Dijk and Mane will want to be in a team that isn't involved in any European competition.
it's not been a surprise that fulham have really tightened up recently and aderabaiyo and anderson look really good as a pairing. Do you reckon that anderson who you were looking at before could replace toby. reads the game well, solid and has a great long pass
Yeah, quite a few people commented on the similarities the other day when we played them. He's still only on loan from Lyon, so it's a possibility. Struggled with injuries and adjusting to the league at first, but he's been really impressive recently.
Fulham were the better side against us, and deserved at least a point, they have deserved all 3 today.
Our last two games Burnley and Fulham= 6 points Since then Burnley draw with Woolwich and Fulham beat Liverpool. Apart from the crazy season, how many of our supporters were/are talking about our slump, dropped points etc. Happening to everyone
The usual suspects are going to have to front up now for UEFA places, as 3 of the current PL top 6 have no UEFA burdens for the final third of the season.
This pandemic has exposed the lack of depth in the Liverpool squad. Too many games, injuries etc have found them out. Losing van Dijk has been huge. The whole team doesn’t seem to function properly without him. It’s not just a case of replacing him with another defender - all the players around him have to play different roles. They haven’t managed it. The knock-on effect has diminished every part of the team. Add to that the inevitable tiredness all teams are suffering from with so many teams and their pressing game has gone out of the window too
This is the weird thing: when we were linked with Andersen he was looked at as a Vertonghen replacement, since Verts' contract was ticking down at the time and at Samdoria he played more like Verts did by bringing the ball up the pitch - and given we were converting Foyth into a RB at the time even though he was signed as a long-term Verts replacement, that also indicates how we saw him There is a belief that the reason he ended up at Lyon is directly tied to our landing Ndombele, in a sort of "Give us who we want and we give you who you want" arrangement, although with him failing to make the grade at Lyon there could be grounds for us to have another look at him
