I’m not talking about corruption just the fact that all governments should be prepared to protect its people from a pandemic of any kind, because this was not done we were running round like headless chickens buying from wherever we could and yes the Chinese conn men made a fortune
A money spinner for the accusers? Try this, from as long ago as.......yesterday. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-56281934
I felt the same way before Farage came along. I doubt we agree on much but before that it was voting for light or dark grey. No matter which party won you just got Politicians who never really did anything. Farage upset the apple cart which is why they hate him. The same reason they hate Trump in Washington. They're not Politicians. Luckily Times They are a Changing
I've just read it. Get past the headline grabbing emotion and it's just as I said. Technically they published after the time they should and there are 100 contracts outstanding. That's it. No accusation of anything wrong in the High Court except procedure.
We spend about the same as most countries, in fact much more than most. If you find analysis on how each health care system works you can see that we get a greater bang for our buck than many other countries who have a much more privatised system
I think the point is, Boris has said it's all out there when as you quite clearly point out, there are still 100 contracts to be published. I know politics is polarised at the moment but is that not an outright lie then?
We’ve left the useless EU and their procedures. Everything will be done but priorities take precedence
You could find dozens of times that politicians have misled parliament, from either side. My point was that there was no accusation of impropriety from the Court. The media has built all of it up. Maybe Johnson was misinformed, who knows. I don't care because there have been no questions about the 608:contracts that have been published. This is a Civil Service thing, Johnson isn't pocketing any of it is he?
The initial case wasn’t about the contracts themselves, so no judgement has yet been made on them. No questions about the published contracts? You sure about that? There’s a judicial review over a number of them in May which is being brought by crowd funded lawyers. That the Govt tried to silence by putting forward their legal costs at £1m, which would have made the case untenable, as the lawyers bringing the case, would be potentially liable for those costs should judgement go against, so they couldn’t bring the case. Only they went back to the court and questioned the figures and the High Court has lowered the total the Govt can put forward at a max of £250k. So the case now goes ahead.
Ok, come back when there's a ruling and we can look at it. I know you aren't a Conservative voter but do you honestly think that Matt Hancock deliberately awarded contracts to his mates? I just can't believe anyone would do that but I also cannot believe that the Civil Service would allow it. It's not like Hancock meets up in a dark alley with a wad of cash. It's a process. I wouldn't even think Corbyn would do it.
Looks like The Man got what he wanted, the plebs arguing between themselves over matters that really will make no difference to them.
Absolutely, i don't think there is a politician alive who hasn't lied or mislead. It's more about the frequency and how easy they sprout all this out really for this current incarnation. Do i expect all the contracts to come out? straight away, not really, i wouldn't say its an absolute priority. Has Boris made any money out of this? we will never know. I expect there to be back handers and some cronyism in government, i just didn't expect there to be this much and this easily. Anyway, i suspect we won't agree on the above point so i guess we'll just have to agree to disagree
Well that will be a short lived post.... freedom to speak up,get real that is been strangled day by day....but then again it will be certain speak only
oh wow, another 15 billion for the Test and Trace service on top of the 22 billion already. I didn't even realise the test and trace stuff was still running https://www.huffingtonpost.co.uk/en...udget-small-print_uk_60412920c5b601179ec35d4a
