I think its shocking when the nhs workers will not accept a 1% pay rise when we need to be building big business up. Totally unaceptable

They wanna try working in the Private Sector, and try to get any sort of pay rise in the current climate.

Oh, and they’ll not find time and a half & double time at weekends.

    Rant Over

Funny thing is I have a pension from the private sector which gives me 3 ,000 a year and one from the public sector which is 8,000 a year. I worked in the private sector for 4 years and the public for 16 years. The moral to the story is don't believe the bullshit that the media feed you

I much prefer this board to the other one that a lot of us came over from, mainly because we can debate rather than telling people we disagree with to **** off. So I will refrain from saying **** off to those that think 1% is a fair crack to those the public and government have supposedly admired and cheered during the pandemic.
When tax cutting deals can be made with multi billion pound companies while taking the piss out of those that provide the service and healthcare the NHS does we truly are a backward selfish set of twats. No the ****in wonder idiots like Donald Trump, Joey Essex get so much publicity.

the problem is. yes many in the NHS have seen horrific things this last year, I genuinely feel for them & respect the work they do....id rather be ill in this country (if i had to be ill) than most other countries in the world.

But lets face it would money fix what some of the NHS have seen this last year, if we gave them a 10% rise would it take the pain away....yes I get it sounds an insult to be offered 1%

Lets not forget ALL other public sectors have continued, the police dealing with some proper tools during this with the dreggs of society claiming to have or have covid when arrested etc. The bin mans still done the vins every week, mates are & they say its like a xmas week every week especially the first lockdown....sure some would have liked few weeks off to have beer in garden on 80% rather than work harder than ever.

All the rest of public sector are on pay freeze now...is that right when they would prob accept a 1% rise current climate

Then theres those on furlow.....not knowing if they even have a job to come back to, know some who are ****ting themselves incase both them & wife get finished & they cant find new work

Theres those who have already lost jobs & cant find work....the unemployment has probably NOT EVEN STARTED yet & we will see clearer when furlow ends...some in jobs will already know they are going to loose there job

Know im ranting....i dont know what the answer is, but there are lots of different angles to be considerate of here, id bite hands off at a 1% rise at the moment....one thing i do know is we could do without the media stirring ****e & political games being played.

The only way out of this is to invest in the country, dont tell us were a services country & thats our product, yes do that bit we also need to work out how we manfacture things again & be competitive at it to create jobs for the masses that kick onto other firns of the same or even tje burger van parked up selling food.

Im not a torry, there is no great result when we are at the moment no matter who was running us, i think we would have been in a lot lot worse place had it been corbyn in charge

The government need to produce, to early probably due to them fighting a fire constantly at the moment, but long term there needs to be a country wide plan to get us going & investment MUST be given to the north equally

Sorry like, but the idea of us being in a worse position under A Corbyn Labour Government is crap. You’re believing too much you read about him in the media. If you want to get an idea of how our response to the pandemic would have been under Corbyn, just look at New Zealand as an example. We certainly would not have been looking at a 120,000 death rate.

It's always a race to the bottom when we talk about public sector workers.

They all got a Thursday clap so they should be more than happy, even without any pay rise at all. They do it for the love of if not money, in fact we should squeeze them so hard the pips squeak rather than allowing them to luxuriate with that extra £3.50 a week.

You are right, we are a morally bankrupt nation, happy to make use of the service but don't want to pay for it or reward those putting themselves at risk in order to ease the suffering of strangers. Even when by doing that they put themselves at risk of being in the same place too.

You both did well on the public sector pensions they are not like that these days, far from it. By the time retirement come round there will be little time left to claim it now. Especially when we factor in the reduced life expectancy due to NHS underfunding and the slash and burn mentality towards healthcare in general.

A 1% pay rise after years of cuts, then covid on top ... delivered to them by Matt Hancock.

I'd be ****ing livid. Its really poor. So much for investing in the NHS.
