I hear what you say and agree there does need to be a complete overhaul and to pay the right money for people on the front line Pen pushers are hot front line
A lot of these managers are the problem, if we have a team of auditors, surly we could check efficiency in all hospitals, and stealing stopped along with more accountability ,i have read a lot of stories of people being left in corridors or highly susceptible people being ignored and dying,
Front line....well whoever's ever been on that are usually cannon fodder for the higher up's, the old saying applies lions led by donkeys....will it ever change
Define underpaid? A nurse with 3 years experience on the middle band 5 is on around £33k a year. The Royal College of Nursing have estimated that the average annual salary of an NHS Nurse is £33,384. The starting salary for a trainee firefighter is £23,366. When fully trained, this rises to £31,144. Higher rates apply for overtime. Crew manager salaries range from £33,101 (development) to £34,528 (competent). The average salary for a Police Officer in United Kingdom is £29813. Visit PayScale to research police officer salaries by city, experience, skill, employer and more.
That’s incorrect though, band 5 starts at below £25k and at 3 years experience is just under £27k Both of my daughters are nurses btw, one band 6 as a sister / nurse practitioner and the other a band 5. Minimum wage for a 40 hour working week is now circa £18,500. These people have degrees (together with the student loan debt). The salaries are absolute mince.
Of course this is all “political” Which as usual drags the innocent into the frame Anyway I’ve a great idea to pay the nurses Deduct 50% from all the GPS who have gone missing over this pandemic nursing staff should get a good increase out of this Ps just grinding an axe
I don’t think anyone would dispute that some in the nhs should be paid more however this is not the right time as I said somewhere else this is a political battleground Pathetic
Yeah I think my g.p. has gone to Madame Tussauds....mind you 2 of the 3 at the practice are as much use so will fit in
just too high to soon, no matter how much the public agree a cautious wait till we get back on our feet approach would be better
Well I think he means like it or not it will be made political somewhere along the line, where pay is concerned when is it not?
Matter of opinion but labour jump on the band wagon unions jump on the band wagon now tell me it’s not political
