Lots of positive thinking which is good and natural in public but are the strikers good enough/will they gey enough service? http://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/sport/9292526._Some_things_were_not_right_before_I_was_appointed_/
He's right. The end of last season was not impressive. But whether he can pull this group of players round, we'll have to wait and see. It's good to see what his thinking is though, and on the whole, i agree. Though i do think there are a couple of kids that should still be in our first team, rather than out on loan. I can understand why he was concerned about their development though. All in all, i like what he's said here.
Talks a very good game ! Actually doing it seems to be a bit more of a problem , I think we are struggling because the quality of most of the new guys is barely enough! I hope he is right and someone goes on a hot scoring spree! It has been said that we have created a lot of chances and maybe that is so , but I think we are struggling to make quality chances and thus our goal tally is low!
I find this puzzling - he fully expects Deeney to come good. I can't see how when he won't give him the opportunity - 10 or 15 minutes a game simply isn't enough.
Has this already been posted? http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/15201452.stm Forest Green seem to becoming the Watford 'nearly made it" team. I now follow their results with interest
Probably the best free interview I've seen on the club website. http://www.watfordfc.com/page/NewsDetail/0,,10400~2477640,00.html
More news flooding out of the club. http://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/sport/9297256.Whichelow_returns_to_Watford/
was a waste of time for him imo! glad to have him back ! we need to get him match fit then give him a run of games ! Goal he scored against derby was class!
Quite surprised to see this as I have been expecting the letter. Still he will not be scouting round my patch. http://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/sport/9298760.Watford_boost_scouting_network/
I often wonder what sort of contract people in these types of positions are on. Are they paid a wage or according to 'results'? If they don't 'unearth a gem', are they deemed to have failed - or is their role just to send players through for trials? I suppose they are a necessity - and we have unearthed a few gems in non-league ranks over the years - Kevin Phillips, John Barnes, Andy Hessenthaler, Jay DeMerit to name a few. Hopefully Tom James will join those ranks - if he ever gets a game!
