Chopras definitely a mag, still goes to games when he can. Did Steve Howey ever play for Sunderland, he was definitely a Mackem.
Believe me, Pop Robson is a 'died in the wool' SAFC supporter, and has also spent a lot of time at SAFC in a coaching capacity. I would say that means he is one of us...
Shay Given, Bob Moncur, Lee Clark, Danny Simpson, Robbie Elliott (Newcastle) Titus Bramble, Stephen Caldwell (Sunderland) Brian Robson, Michael Chopra, Chris Waddle (Unsure) Can't think of anyone else, I know there is loads! Steve Bruce is Sunderland's too as he has no association with Newcastle - never played for us or manager us!
He is more Newcastle now. Does north east phone ins and he always sticks up for Newcastle, loves Newcastle and seems to actually dislike Sunderland
I think the likes of Titus would be neither. He is an Ipswich associated player for me as much I'd enjoy classing him as a Mackem. Pop Robson I'd say is a West Ham boy football player wise. Although he probably played his better football while at Newcastle (so my dad said), I'd say he was a Mackem out of the two of us because that is where his roots lie. Plus he scored that goal that saved them and went down in folklore on the dark side. Chopra is Newcastle. Yes he didn't play much but it was not for the want of trying. Plus that miss was seriously suspect! Bruce is nothing to do with Newcastle despite his best efforts down the years to claim he was a Newcastle fan. He is a Manc through and through for me, and has more affiliation with Norwich than Newcastle. I don't want him associated in any way. Even if we are partly responsible for ever bulging midrift as most of his favourite eateries appear to be this side of the water. (I've seen him quite a few times and yes his head is that fat) Waddle is a tough one. Football wise its obviously us as his time with the Mackems was just an after thought in his career due to supporting them, and was not a very successful time for them! He is a Mackem though as you can tell by his loathsome twang! I'm torn, he was great crack when he came back with Sheff Wed and took the abuse in good heart. But his Mackem roots seem to be making him biased against us when assessing us now. For that reason he can **** off back where he belongs! Haha Bracewell I'd class neither. Think he loved his time at both clubs but was Everton through and through due to it being his best time as a footballer. Venison was Liverpool for me though he did start his career there. Don't know if he was a Mackem supporter as a boy? He certainly enjoyed his time with us and we got him his solitary England cap. He was actually excellent for us, and played some of the best football of his career which seemed unlikely after leaving Liverpool.
