Good Morning. It's Wednesday 3rd March, and here are the latest headlines from Elland Road

Marseille star rejected ER move in favour of Villa

Aston Villa midfielder Morgan Sanson has revealed that he rejected a move to Leeds in the January transfer window, opting instead for a transfer to Villa Park.

The Villans signed Sanson on January 26 in a £14million deal from Marseille. So costly was the transfer, that it led to the departure of Andre Villas Boas who walked out on the French giants.

In a recent interview on French television, the French midfielder revealed that he rejected a move to Leeds to sign with Villa.

"I’ve known everything in Ligue 1, especially with Montpellier and Marseille," "So I was at a point where I was wondering: ‘why not go abroad?

"Since I was little I have always had a special affection for this championship (the Premier League). "Aston Villa are a big club in England, but it could have been another club the summer before. "There was Leeds who were very interested, but I felt that was not the time."

Leeds keeping close eye of MK Dons starlet

Leeds are closely monitoring MK Dons highly rated left wing back Matthew Sorinola. The 20yo has already made 32 senior appearances for Russell Martins team, 29 of those this season.

His stand out performances have also attracted West Ham, Newcastle, West Brom, Burnley, Crystal Palace, Brentford, Bournemouth and Middlesbrough.

Sorinola has refused to pen a new deal at the Stadium MK. It looks increasing likely that one of these clubs will have an absolute gem in the Summer!

Whilst it's great to see Leeds snapping up young raw talent, it hardly seems fair on the smaller clubs who have nurtured these players, only for bigger fish to come along and steal them away!

I'm sure we remember how we felt when we lost Taiwo and Woods to Chelsea in 2006, Lennon to Spurs or Delph to Villa. The fees involved are negligible, especially if it ends up at a tribunal.

Is there a fairer way, or should it be the bigger fish eating the smaller one.

And the next Leeds Utd Manager is....

I know it's hypothetical, but at some point Marcelo Bielsa will decide to call it a day, and move on from Elland Road, and whilst we are all hoping that day does not come too soon, we need to be prepared.

Oddschecker have provided the latest odds on who who take the Elland Road hot seat when Bielsa leaves!

What is your opinion on these Managers. Who from the list would you pick - if you had to?

Who isn't on the list, that you would like?

    Morning all :emoticon-0148-yes:

Big clubs taking smaller clubs players is part of the reason smaller clubs can survive. Thanks to Leeds Morecambe and Carlisle and Livingston get another revenue stream. I heard the other day that every time player # plays for Palace ( I think) Carlisle get £10k

As far as Bielsa’s replacement goes I would put a ton on Jorge Sampaoli

Sam Allardyce for me <laugh>
    Good morning all
Seriously though if it was just from the list above, i guess the best two are Rodgers & Arteta.
But from the small amount i know, from mostly this forum & a few online snippets Jorge Sampaoli would be the man, but i seriously hope we don't have to worry about this for a few seasons yet.

That Morgan Sanson who signed for Villa in January, by what he’s saying it wasn’t a straight choice between them or Leeds. He’s saying Leeds wanted him last summer but he wasn’t ready to move then. I doubt Leeds were in for him in January.

No one in their right mind would choose to play for those arrogant twats Smith and Terry instead of Bielsa. If he did it would only be because they’re paying more in wages, and we don’t need mercenary players more interested in their bank balance than their careers.

I thought we got £ 5M for Taiwo & Woods (or rather Bates did). If that is the case we / he did very well considering they both did feck all squared with their careers :emoticon-0136-giggl

There are many things that annoy me as I get older, but 2 of them are Agents and shyt journo’s. His week a couple of publications saying that Mesliers Agent is telling a journo that Leeds need to carry on improving or the kid will leave. In the same interview Barcelona is mentioned, FFS

IF this is anything to do with the kid wanting a pay rise he can fooook off for me. This is a kid brought in from nowhere and made Leeds Utd No1 by one of the best coaches in the world. If this is nothingbto domwith the kid he needs to sack the twat before he Bielsa and Orta find out and replace him

Thing is Doc, if you read the interview, the Agent really doesn't come across like that. He says "big clubs" namely Marseille and Chelsea wanted him before he came to Leeds but not as first choice and they (he and his agent) decided he needed to go somewhere he had a chance of being no.1. Obviously, like all players he wants to do the best he can and that includes winning things and playing the CL but he says pointedly, that would be so much more exciting at Leeds than at, say Real Madrid, Barcelona, Bayern etc. He doesn't say any of them are looking at him. Problem is, there are so many crap sites like Leeds Live desperate for a headline they just line that sort of quote with if, but, maybe to make it sound like they have some sort of scoop - just garbage.

To be honest, I would rather our players are linked with these sort of clubs than the likes of Norwich, it represents progress in itself and I have faith that Rads is looking to build on it not flog every asset. Chill man :emoticon-0148-yes::emoticon-0176-smoke

I read the headline and saw it in various clickbait outlets and decided I wont click, but went on the intimation from the headline :emoticon-0148-yes: clickbait journo a pet hate tick and an agent tick

I read this expecting to see paddy waxing lyrical about joffy but if anything he was playing him down... was more a bit ‘he’s alright I suppose’ and the Wayne Rooney comparisons were just about his build... and perhaps his penchant for the older ladies <laugh>

Just noticed the Blunts are 1-0 up against the cheating bastards. Unfortunately they're down to 10 men and there's 25 minutes to go.

    Come on you Blunts!!!

Looking at the stats of the Burnley game they've had more chances on goal than Leicester
