According to SSN their proposed move to the Olympic Stadium has collapsed.

Lucky escape for them if you ask me, far too big for them and they'd be better investing in their squad and focusing on re-establishing themselves as a PL club.

Yes definitely, the new stadium would only offer more modern facilities and the option to expand in the future. Both are not really essential and the latter would most likely never be needed, they're just too small a club.

Arsenal are a prime example, that new stadium has crippled them regardless of the fact that they have no problem filling it.

They would regret having the running track there to in my opinion.

Just briefly skimmed the BBC article on this, does it not say something like the stadium costs £5 per year to run and they'll be paying £2 per yer rent? Plus its gonna cost £50m for the conversion which West Ham now don't have today?

Unless I read it wrong, which is possible cause I just woke up it sounds like West Ham are on the short term getting a great deal. costing the rest of us tax payers thoug ain't it

I haven't read it but £5 per year and £2 rent? I think my one bedroom flat costs about £2 every hour, how are they getting a while stadium for £2? Does that include gas, electric, water, broadband and tv licence?

West Ham would be ****ing stupid to even consider buying it. They will never, ever, ever get close to filling it, and it will cripple their already sensitive finances.

Makes me wonder what the **** Leyton Orient think they're going to do with it.

    God knows.

It's an 80,000 seater stadium. I'd say only Arsenal or Man Utd would look sensible buying it. Any other team would look stupid every single week they played with rows upon rows of empty seats. Even Upton Park has 35,000 seats and West Ham barely fill those, so if they moved to Wembley more than HALF of the entire stadium would be completely bare.

    Simply daft.

The positive from West Ham inheriting the stadium was them getting it discounted or help from the government to do the work on it for them to move in and they could sell the land where Upton Park is. Renting it would be cheaper and the Leyton Orient chairman said a ground share could happen with all three clubs (Orient, West Ham and Spurs).

Trust me our fans are delighted at this news! Its the owners that want the stadium, not us!

It'd probably better for Man Utd to buy it then their season ticket holders won't have to travel as far and the majority of their fans can fly into heathrow or gatwick

Would Spurs be able to fill it? I doubt they could get passed 60,000
