So sad to hear this. I lost a good friend, ex-school to a malignant brain tumour last year aged 65. One of the worst types of cancer. Great memories of Glenn wearing the Hoops. RIP
Up there with the QPR greats IMO. A cultured, elegant, understated player. Thanks for the memories Glenn.
I loved watching QPR when Glenn was playing. He was so elegant with the ball and was probably more suited to the modern day game. RIP Captain Glenn please log in to view this image
As soon as l saw the piece in the news about Glen Roeder passing, my immediate thoughts ( after not hearing about him for some time ) ....was, ex QPR player. Condolences to his family. From what l've read, he had been ill for some time. Rest in peace Glen, thank you for being the decent person you have always been and being someone who played his best for our beloved Queens Park Rangers.
Very saddened to hear this news. A very classy player I loved to watch and who had passed away far to early. May he Rest In Peace.
So many memories of going to watch Glen and the team with my dad in 80s so sad for his family far too young RIP Glen
I was a newbie R when he played - and back in the day, the FA Cup final was broadcast live to Canada and I remember him fairly well. Tragic news. RIP Glen
Paid my condolences on the RIP thread ... but Glenn was a real QPR legend as far as my supporting lifetime goes and as far as our club goes too. I am really sad to hear of his early passing. One of the best. RIP Glenn.
It maybe not the right time, but I've been racking my brains out. Lovely player for us. Especially in the early 80's. He was our captain in our first FA Cup Final and lifted the trophy when we were promoted with Venables 82/83, what happened to him after that? He was every fans favourite. I can't remember, we signed him for £250,000 from Orient but he went to Newcastle for £125,000 after going out on-loan to Notts County late '83. Despite all that , I'm glad that he was inducted into the 'Forever R's ' ... please log in to view this image
Very saddened to see this news. A hero of mine when I was a lad. Elegant footballer and came across as a genuine good human being.
That's a great read and epitomises the quality that Glenn brought to the team. One of the best leaders we've ever had.
