Poor rotation and the decision to take the cups seriously has relegated the club. Steve Bruce wanted to say " rafa didn't get to the quarters". We're ****ed
I actually agree with CC here like (can’t believe I’ve just said that). We would be well in the bottom 3 had it not been for Wilson. Lewis is gash mate, pure and simple. Age is irrelevant, he just ain’t gonna cut it! He’s 23, Joe Willock is 21...it’s blatantly obvious which one looks more of a PL player to me like! He may flourish and be a reliable PL squad player...not under Steve Bruce though!
I swear I remember Pouchy arguing furiously that you couldn't look at net spend and that there was actually good investment in the squad under Rafa. Or something like that. I guess waiting until nobody can quite remember what you said and then changing tack is 99% of what keeps this site going (see also CC, ACS et al) so I shouldn't grumble.
You made the mistake of reading everything he writes. Golden rule: read the 4th paragraph. Comment on that only.
Incorrect. I simply pointed out that Rafa had it no different in the PL to the other managers while some wanted to manipulate the truth because they couldn't weasel out of the fact that Rafa wasn't all that good. If we go back to the discussion it actually surrounded Pardew I believe and the fact he'd had the exact same conditions. The Rafa Guzzlers didn't like that fact because they realised Pardew had provided better entertainment and results. Pardew is a very average manager so I can understand their frustration at the realisation Rafa wasn't all that good. So they tried to muddy the waters. But hey don't let the truth get in the way of a good yarn buddy.
I've said as much mate. I'm not arguing whether he is a good player now. He clearly isn't and I think I used the word gash to describe him on several occasions. As I say I don't understand what Klopp and Liverpool were looking at. However age is far from irrelevant in football, its actually really important. We could all reel off a list of players who at 18-24 weren't all that good. Then something clicked. To be honest its exactly this kind of attitude and lack of patience why we aren't seen as good place to go for younger players, they don't get loads of encouragement here from the club or the fans. Imagine if Ian Wright, Les Ferdinand, Jamie Vardy had been given up in the same way. Imagine if we'd given up on Warren Barton who looked every bit as bad as Lewis when he arrived. Turned into a really good player for us and he wasn't even young. Loads of examples. Conversely players who can look magic at 18 can be discarded by 25. Robinho, Denilson, Bentley, Ibrahim Ba, Freddy Adu, Tony Daley its a long bloody list. I don't expect Lewis to become anything if I'm being honest. I assume Liverpool and our scouts were looking at some stats he did well or something, cause watching him play is painful.
Interestingly David Bentley has just signed for my local village first team. I'm thinking of one more go in the vets next season.
Good to know you agree with everything I said then, age is very relevant. I'm sure Adam Johnson would have been wise to remember this.
I possibly would agree if I had read everything you said. But then if I read everything you said I would have no time for anything else
Your reading level must be akin to a piece of fruit. Again it explains a lot about these kids education. Then you have temerity to whine about pay.
It is a nice word. I think Suzy Dent is likely massively into anal. Don't know why, but I suspect it.
pouchie clearly hasn’t had a slice of punani pie this week. It seems someone raided the fridge and filled his boots, whilst emptying his balls last weekend...
