I deal in pragmatism not fantasy. Seeing us win a Title is totally beyond my expectations. I e seen too many slip away to contemplate even seeing one in my lifetime .
"If you take the average points per game into account it will take 10 wins in a row to draw level with the mighty Peterboro ." Your post # 334 The use of the word "IF" in the above statement is fantasy as it is untrue.
Not really . Do expect us to win a league title ?? Never Do I expect us to win a cup competition ? Never. Do I expect us to win the Play Offs ?? Yes 100% Certain we will .
A really good professional performance, it seems when we are away and teams are more likely to be more forward thinking, we deal with that better than at home when teams sit back and defend. A good performance all round, Magennis was excellent and KLP was very good also, particularly in the first half. Wilk's was also ever good, apart from his antics with the penalty, but credit to Magennis for defusing the situation. The back 4 were also very sound, and Burke's goal was a nice bit of skill. Alfie Jones was very good as were both Honeyman and Docherty, and the Doc as a real turn of pace at times. Magennis MOTM for me. A good day all round, with most other teams around us dropping points.
I like the fact Wilks demanded taking the second penalty. Shows a bit of attitude and fire in his belly. A bit more appetite like that from the rest of the squad and we won’t be getting rolled over and beaten at home by dross teams.
We have an infuriating ability to look a very good team then the next week look totally clueless as to what we are supposed to be doing. Especially when we don’t even put a shot on target. This is going to put us in the play offs at best imho. How we manage this is beyond me. Answers on a postcard.
Just need the Gimps to go on a wobbly and the rest to beat each other and pile up the injuries and it's in the bag. Btw you didnt read that here.
agree, City are far too inconsistent to get a top 2 finish. Abysmal on Tue against Ipswich & a different team 4 days later against Wimbledon. This keeps on happening & top 6 is where we will finish (6th place for Donny in 2019 being the highest position McCann has ever achieved) Enob has to decide whether to stick with McCann & risk not getting promoted or bring in a new manager now whilst we still have enough games to get automatic. Next season the fans will be back & the Allams need every penny they can get in match day revenue so they need to ensure City are in The Championship with a manager capable of a top 6 finish. McCann is not the man to achieve either of these things . If City are still in Div1 next season with McCann as manager there will be 5,000 for a home game in a stadium that holds 25,400.
I believe that yesterday we started out with just about our strongest 11, with a capable bench. Changes for the sake of change, do not work, nor does changing the team for a midweek game. We should start with the same team on Saturday and until we need to, we limit the changes.
Not wanting to drag this thread in another direction but was that the first double over another club this season ?? Apologies for discussing a football related topic....I was just wondering that’s all... honest your honour!!!!!
Other teams we can still do the double over (in order of when we play them): Rochdale Bristol Rovers Gillingham Crewe Alexandra Northampton Town Plymouth Argyle Wigan Athletic Charlton Athletic
