Levy has to wear many hats in his anchor role. Autocue reader, political interrogator, etc

He's no Paxman but he's a decent all rounder who is happy to get drenched/ interact with the public in person etc to raise money for charity.

A decent all rounder & safe pair of hands says I

    "Perfectly fine" ...high praise indeed.

The man is a bumbling idiot.

In my limited role working as a volunteer for a local hospice, on the occasion I met Peter Levy I found him to be an ace guy, who was always willing to contribute and support the organisation.

I've bumped into him a few times in the town and chatted. He's just a decent, down to earth bloke

Don't dare have a different point of view. Ever thought that the same thing applies to everyone you criticise?

He is crap. That of course is only my subjective view. Of course finding good presenters on RH is not an easy task.

You know when the sign-off is a 'hurtful' personal comment that they've lost the argument

Bullshit, isn’t it? Reckon they’d have the balls to say “you’ve only got the job because you’re black” to his face?

You seem fixated on colour, yet get upset if others mention it. You also seem to be heading down a strange route by implying there would be menace involved in expressing an opinion to an interviewer.

As for the lad in question, I hadn't heard him, so thought I'd try to have a listen.

Hid radio shows don't seem to be available through the listen again feature, but there were some interviews with him for the face of the City of Culture. He just seemed the normal level for local radio. However, he did say he is motivated by his ethnicity, as he sees it as an opportunity to help others that may feel different. That implies he himself sees his colour as a factor in his presenting. People will differ on that being a good or bad thing, but there it is.

Nobody mentioned his ethnicity until you just did, how come you didn't jump all over the people criticising Wilks yesterday or is that different?

Kofi is okay , bit excitable at times , bit BBC local radio level though seems genuine in his 'enthusiasm' unlike the previous BBC Radio Norfolk type presenter who voice just grated me in sub Partridge-esqe banality and turn stations / to othermedia source on the car gramophone...

Mind you he is from Withernsea :)

I was thinking of listening too, this link should point to quite a few of them. At least it does for me...

Sorry, people absolutely mentioned his ethnicity beforehand.

It's been deemed he only got the job to fill a 'quota'. Definitely nothing to do with a desire from the BBC to attract a younger audience to local radio.

It's fine to not like someone. It's different to suggest they only got their job to fulfil a 'quota'.

Mr Toast mentioned "they" in his post, implying anyone criticising Kofi had racist motives.

A couple of summers ago I was walking through Pearson Park on my way to work.

A lone black man aged about 30 sat on a bench gave the thumbs up to two similarly aged men. One black one white.

The white man accused him of giving them the one finger salute. He definitely didn't, I had a good view.

The white man decided to approach the guy on the bench and proceeded to punch him in the face.

The black guy bounced up and took up a boxing stance.

    So two on one.

After shouting "Oi, **** off" (I have a particularly loud gob when I shout). Then I threw my bag down and took my place by his side.

"Come on then it's two v two now"!

The aggressors looked at us for ten seconds before walking away. Me and the fella walked away in the opposite direction and just had a little chat, putting the world to rights and all that. It made me late for work.

Now was I standing up for an ethic chap, or was I just standing up for an innocent man?

I don't take colour, race, or creed into consideration at all, although I've still been accused of it in the past, just because I made a casual racist remark in jest.

I think we get pulled up on social media way too much for saying something we didn't mean. The PC brigade jump at the slightest chance to call 'RACIST'.

That's when I feel offended. When someone calls me racist, Sexist etc.

I'm offended because it couldnt be further from the truth.

    Just saying...

I'm sure he'll correct me if I'm wrong... (@Steven Toast please do), but I'm pretty sure he was referring to the quota posts too.

I didn’t see anybody suggesting Wilks was a diversity hire.
Were the people criticising Wilks because of the colour of his skin, or because he was being petulant? Or because Grant signed him because we didn’t have enough of a diverse squad?

I was referring to the people who claim Kofi is just there as a diversity hire and wondering if they would be so candid as to ask him themselves. He’s a nice guy, I’m sure he’d explain it pretty clearly. I haven’t called anybody racist.

Was anyone criticising Kofi because of the colour of his skin? I don't think so, so don't go throwing (implying) your "racist" tag around to anyone who dissgrees with you.
