Maybe because we are not right in the mix at the moment. You have answered your own question in sentence two.
We're not going down ffs. I genuinely find it baffling that people think we're going to go on a Sheffield United like run.
No I mean the run it would take to get relegated. It would require winning no more than once in 21 games, and once could well end up being enough when you throw in a few draws. It's just not going to happen.
Yeah but I'm talking about the chance of that continuing for another 13 games. You think we're going to go 21 matches without a win? Can you even name the last time that we did that?
Using our last 8 games as evidence we'll go down is a bit like using our first 9 as evidence we were challenging for the title; completely mental.
Yeah I suppose. Possible in the same way that it's possible that someone other than City could win the league.
Pessimistic type of person that I am , even I don't think we will get relegated THIS year . Stay safe all .
Still not out of the realms of possibility though is it. Just like I think Ralph will be sacked before the end of the season.
As Ralph said, we we the fourth highest point scoring team in 2020, and one of the worst in 2021. It'll turn back around.
If we’re not sold and Ralph doesn’t get some financial backing, I have a niggling feeling he will be gone anyway. When speaking about transfer targets recently we couldn’t get(because we are skint) he seemed down....almost fed up.
And to be totally fair, 2020 points was based on a whole year. 2021 is based on 8 weeks. Ive ben a bit down about it all, and i can see it getting worse before it gets better. But I’d be utterly amazed if we went down. For me the biggest challenge is the ownership issue, keeping Ralph, having a good transfer window and pre season. As for me the worry is our form continuing into next season, as that would be a real concern of relegation.
In all honesty, I think our squad of players would struggle to improve without Ralph, so any new manager, changing the style of play, would struggle. IMO it’s his style of play that makes us look good, but even then it is dependent on everyone playing at 7+ and chances being taken, and that is where we have issues. Several of the squad lack the consistency to maintain that level, and some of them, to be frank, will only ever be mid to lower Premier League standard. Ralph not being allowed to bring in upgrades has held us back unfortunately.
Not all the transfers didnt happen cos of money though. A number of them were due to clubs not allowing players to leave. I’d imagine we will pay up/fo deals on players with contracts with a year left, so they are gone and cut away. I’m not convinced Ryan will stay, but he is on a fair wedge. If we are that skint, we wouldn’t be offering Ings a contract he is happy with financially, just he seems to be waiting for a big club. So I think we will have some money to spend, but i made this point a few weeks ago, we will be looking at free transfers and players in a similar situation to Ings - only having a year left on contracts. If it gets us out the **** for a year, then why not.
I’m less worried about next season, as we’ll get a pre-season, and it’s (hopefully) back to being a regular number of games over a sensible period, so we won’t have the fatigue/injury problems.
