so you’ve watched the video I posted specifically between 3;45 and 3:47? Not a difficult question to answer

Ah the good old, oh **** I’m in trouble. I’ll post a picture of Salah thatll win the argument about how a totally unrelated incident was a penalty <laugh>

To get this back on track (tobes please stop moaning). The refereeing in this league is terrible, the introduction of var should of made it better, how it made it worse is absolutely mystifying.

A split second design, you can understand them getting wrong, taking 3 minutes to sit in front of a monitor then get wrong us beyond belief.

The thing I find most annoying is var use is being swayed by TV. No descion goes the same once var is called, suddenly every descion stays the same, European refs only take a glance, suddenly its a quick a look then on.

    This.

Never shared this because of our recent misfortunes, I moaned about referring last season too when we romped away with it! The standard of refs is just terrible!

i pointed out when Var was introduced that since the same incompetents would still be making the decisions why should we expect it to improve - though even my cynical self has been staggered with ease our refs have managed to totally trash Var so quickly <laugh>

Apparently the WBA Brighton game contained a comedy refereeing routine today. I haven't seen it so don't know.

even by the dismal standards of the PL it was truly hysterical . It had true comedic value as long as you didn't support either club .

@saintKlopp the commentary is in English but it makes no difference cos the English ones had no idea of what was going on

What's the confusion about? Did the ref said wait for the whistle but then blew before the keeper was ready?

Dunk asked to take quick free kick

ref said yes blew his whistke

dunk took it and before ball crossed like ref then blew his whistle again

he then disallowed it, before then allowing it

var then got involved to check if the second time he blew his whistle was before or after it crossed line

as it was before, they disallowed it

however no one really knows why he blew the whistle the second time as he said they could take it quick.

the West Brom defender apparently said after that he blew the whistle to stop play because he wanted to talk to someone in wall but that never happened.

theory is, he realised after he blew whistle the West Brom keeper wasn’t ready so blew it second time to stop the play but it caused a huge **** up.

Lee mason in past few weeks has ****ed up today.

he was the var ref who told Mike dean to send off soucek for the elbow becaus he had a clenched fist, despite it not being clenched... that was overturned on appeal.

And was also the var ref to Mike dean in the saints game where he advised to send off saints defender which again, then for overturned.

Nuno’s quotes on Lee Mason from few months back... since then also saints reportedly said they don’t want him officiating their games...

“The referee does not have the quality to whistle a game in the Premier League,” he said on Sky Sports. “This is a problem that we knew – we had Lee Mason before.

“It is not about the crucial mistakes or decisions, it is about the way he handles the game. The players get nervous, too much voices, he whistles by the voices when some players are shouting.

“We are talking about the best competition and clearly he doesn’t have the quality to whistle the game. I’m very disappointed to say this but I would not feel right if I didn’t say it.

“I just don’t want to see him more – that’s what I told him. I hope he doesn’t whistle a game of ours again because all the games we have with Lee Mason are always the same.

“He cannot control the players, the players are constantly arguing – both teams. With all the other referees the game flows, there’s dialogue. He’s just not ready to do it.”

Same here been saying it for years
Even I got fed up of hearing myself moaning about it :)
I even posted something similar earlier In This thread about everyone else using VAR lol
As I said it appears to be petulance from our referees or guidance from the top
Some posters keep making this a Liverpool thing but all of those people have had gripes about decisions in the past and will do In The future.
We will never make football clean cut but VAR can and has worked all over the world.

these low standards are rife from top to bottom in the uk footballing pyramid. Yesterday was just a farce

on the plus side even rugby had issues yesterday lmao

I said a while back, if the PL wants to be seen as the best league in the world they need the best match officals in the world. And then train them properly.

Also, Is there a rule that says you refs, linos etc need to be from your own country?

Not sure any ref can be completely neutral to every team, everybody has their prejudices against teams even if there is no rivarly with the City you are from or team you support. At least with a foreign ref there would be a bit of extra distance.

of course not. you see a lot of european games where a ref truns up and he doesn't give a stuff. No press pressure, rarely any issues and he won't see this lot for years if ever again. Just refs it and the standards are quite consistent, yes there are some that buy the drivel out of the divers but everyone is at is.
