I think it was a second yellow. He had one for timewasting in the corner on a throw-in, and was brandished a yellow before the red by the ref.
Sitting here waiting for Sky’s in-depth analysis of why the free-kick went to Bournemouth that lead to the goal and the programme ends! Thanks Sky, just seen analysis switched channels and missed it (I think).
Anyone know the rules about the free-kick? Did the ref just make a mistake or is he within his rights to change the free-kick to go the other way?
The ref gave 10 yellow cards because he never took control of the game. Establish at the start you’re not a pushover, and this sort of thing just doesn’t happen. I mean Joao clearly thought the ref was so bad that he would miss his kick on Lerma. Wilshere just came on to mix it.
Can change any decision before a restart. One of my mates tested me.saying he was glad I hadn't watched it... "it would've killed you"!!!
I did not watch all the game, but I did later look at the incident. I do not think that the issue is whether the referee can change his mind, Horner-Fez. The question should be whether the referee was correct to change his mind about to which side he awarded the free kick. He awarded a free kick to Watford because Lerma was climbing all over Chalobah's back. The linesman drew his attention to Chalobah's subsequent reaction to Lerma's foul so he gave a yellow card to Chalobah and awarded the free kick to Bournemouth. Should Watford still not have had the free kick - even though Chalobah was given a yellow card for his reaction to the foul? The free kick led to Bournemouth scoring their goal.
I watched the whole game on Sky The match commentators were furious with Lerner pretending he had been hit and rolling around as if he was hurt Pedros second was not a deliberate foul he slipped and slid into the Bournemouth player who dived and pretended he was hurt Bournemouth are pure scum and now with Woodgate in charge they are even worse Bachman was unlucky with the goal he got a foot to it but it crept in Nigel did us a favour by thrashing Swansea lets hope he gets the chance to do it the rest of the top six
I don't know what planet Woodgate is on but he said after the match to Sky that Chalobah should have been red carded for the Lerma incident - even though he claimed not have seen it.
Starting on Wednesday against Bournemouth. After that, they can really only help us with their final match at home to Brentford - they look to have a relatively easy run-in.
Dan Gosling to the Echo - “I loved my time at the club, and I wanted to stay, but Watford came calling and it was a no brainer. What I saw today from Jeff (Lerma) and Jack (Wilshere) is the reason why Bournemouth will struggle. That attitude isn’t for me.”
Gray had his chance to earn himself a place in Watford folklore by running off the bench and smacking Lerma in the face and giving him a genuine reason to roll around like he’s been shot. I say Gray, because the 10 game ban wouldn’t matter too much. Robodellwfc
With Chabolah resting for the next two games, I think he will have a chance to make a name for himself.
