Let's face it, we all have trouble sleeping from time to time and we all deal with it differently. For those of us who listen to music to help us sleep share what you listen to. You may think I am weird but I have been known to listen to stuff like Disturbed to help me sleep. I have no idea why but it works like a charm.
Don't download any of the specially recorded ones on audible.com that claim to help you sleep. They're certainly relaxing but, even if you do get to sleep, you're invariably awoken by the incredibly loud 'THIS IS AUDIBLE' announcement at the end of the recording. Stupid bastards.
I find that watching/listening to documentaries tends to work really well, for some reason - always online, however, never on TV. Music-wise, I'll always go for classical and I'll usually go for Allegri's Miserere. It's quite long (although the version below is missing a couple of minutes at the end), agonisingly beautiful - if you like that sort of thing - and it brings its own kind of inner silence. Highly recommended* for ushering in sleep. *Terms and conditions apply. User may feel naggingly suicidal upon waking.
