Apparently they have not lost at home since October 27th. Means they are due to then. Today is hopefully that day.
Just checking the league including home and away records...... Should be a tough game today. Just been looking at the tables etc and Crewe have been the 3rd best team at home this season while we have been the 4th best away team so I'm expecting something close. Hopefully we can continue our recent run. Lincoln at Plymouth sees the very best away team (Lincoln's away record is only bettered by Peterborough's home) against the 4th best home team. Hopefully the long journey to Plymouth against a good home team sees them slip up and the 2 points less they've had compared to us the last 6 games increases. Peterborough (as mentioned the best home record in the division) against Wigan looks a foregone conclusion but you never know. Wigan have won over twice as many away than they have at home so I'm clinging to that in the vain hope they can pull something out the bag.
I don't think that's right tbh. They've had quite a few draws and I think this is only their second home game this month. They're all close games so they obviously play a controlled game. None of that matters though, we just have to keep our belief, for 90 minutes, and we'll beat them.
They've won 8, drawn 4 and lost 3 at home so wouldn't surprise me if they'd gone a while without defeat there. Like you say though, all that matters is how we perform, play to our best and they won't keep up. We battered them at home in the first half and we were **** then
Me n Marge were meant to be going to Malaga last May for our hols, but COVID put a stop to that. Not been there before, so still plan to holiday there, probably in 2022!! Bart
Had a quick check and it was the 3rd November last time they got beat at home in the league. They've won 6 and drawn 3 since, the three draws coming in the last 4 games
I like Crewe, good away day and they always seem to try to play football without the typical L1 cheating. But their recent form isn't spectacular since they lost Finney this month ... ... he's someone I thought we should look at ... ... 23, energetic and a goal every 3/4 games from midfield.
Why? AOB scored last week. He does the muscle work with the CBs allowing Charlie to get the goals and at this moment in time Jones is a bloody good sub to bring on when Geads gets tired. I think Jones is going to be an asset to the team but leave it alone whilst we are going so well imo.
Jones is a replacement for Gooch or McGeady, definitely not O'Brien. More and more people are seeing what O'Brien brings to the team, not least Charlie Wyke.
Can't see him being dropped he's started 8 of the last 9 and we've won 6, drawn 2, lost 1 in that time and he has 1 in 3. That and the fact Jones is a winger and O'Brien plays more in the middle. I think he lacks a bit of technical ability and it's taking him a while a settle but he works his socks off and he brings others into the game. He needs to stop thinking he can twist and turn his way past players as he's not very good at it, what he can do is get the ball turn and lay it off, keep it simple and stay strong
From the Chtonicle: "Sunderland's pitch will be upgraded so Lee Johnson can implement his 'ice hockey' passing style." Does anyone read anymore into that other than he wants to keep the ball on the turf?
Because we have a very busy schedule coming up and LJ admitted the other night are players were looking very leggy. Chuck Mcgeady in O’Briens position and give him a free role, Jones slots in on the left. Light work.
After the crosses McGeady's been putting in you want to take him out of that position ... ... Wyke would be distraught.
I think its fab we seem to have lots of options and the strength in depth with the squad. I think Jones will get his chance but if you asked everyone on here we would all differ with our options. Like I said leave it alone whilst its working would be my choice.
After the heavy challenge on Jones in the last game I think he's going to have a sore neck at least, or could even have to follow concussion protocols. He looked bad at one stage, if he is not 100% I would leave him out.
Hoping Ipswich can do us a favour today as the fixtures suggest all the top teams will get the points again. Looks like we have one of the more difficult games,
Today feels like a proper match day. Even though we can’t go, it feels the way it used to in the prem for me... a sign of the times? Ha’way me bonnie lads! 4-0 to us
