The Allams are supposedly going to give NP a tidy sum in January, so who do you fancy/anticipate? I'd expect an extended loan for Brady and a permanent for Waggy, but other than that we have no real clues. I reckon we'll need to be on the lookout for a new permanent keeper, perhaps even revisit Vito as he's still 3rd choice at Arsenal, with a new keeper expected for them in Jan too. Defensive cover? We're sorted at left back and macca could cover rosie, but we could do with another centre half. Real shame we couldn't get ayala, maybe miles addison? We still need more quality up front. That's our weakness and even if we bring in Waggy we need another, I would suggest Haynes but I think we're in more need of a proper Target man, although none spring to mind. Thoughts/Suggestions? Sorry for any spelling mistakes etc, quickly typed on my android app.
Brady and Waghorn for the season at least. After that i am happy to wait and see who NP brings in. Plus in January there maybe some players available then that are not available now. For example, IF Man Utd get knocked out of the carling cup prior to 2011 ending then SAF may allow some more of his kids to go out on loan for the reast of this season. But i would like to get the likes of Oli and Stewart back - fit and in the match day squad first ? IMO, the only real requirement (with a large cash injection in jan) would be a proven goal scorer to cement a top 6 finish or even a top 2 finish. its gonna be an interesting next 4 months for sure. As a pure stab in the dark i wonder if city could prise Macheda(man utd) out on loan ? but i am very impressed with Jay Rodriguez @ Burnley and Nicky Maynard could also be a good shout, imo.
Maynard wouldn't leave Bristol when Leicester came in for him, so i think we can forget that. Can't see any of the others either. Best bet is to try keep what we have now.
alot will change between now and january as other clubs may have to cash in before players leave for nothing. as ive already said, its gonna be an interesting next few months. maynards contract runs out in the summer and bristol wont want to see him go for nothing. so you never know. i guess the question has to be ""how much money will the allams make available"" in jan.
nobody said they would. what i said was that they would be the sort of players that would cement what we have. never rule anything in or out. but i am sure that NP will have one or 2 surprises lined up if the money is there. imo.
didnt leicester have a 6.5 million bid knocked back for maynard and southampton have a 4.5 million bid rejected for rodriguez we will never spend anywhere near that
"The Allams are supposedly going to give NP a tidy sum in January" from what I understood that is conditional upon league position. Agreed Waghorn & the Brady loan would be great, give Oli a run out see if he improves our midfield, Cam Stewart should be like another signing too. CB cover after that for me.
I think we should definitely try and sign Tevez. We also have Kevin Kilbane returning who hopefully should be a key figure.
wtf so if we drop off they arn't gonna invest? we will only get an investment if were top 6? the council just **** them out.they have to show thier intention now.
I took Ehab's comments to mean we'd try to sign Waggy on a permanent and extend Brady's loan for the rest of the season to keep us competitive. We might look for the odd further addition, depending on loans/sales/injuries in January, but I certainly don't expect us to be competing for £5m strikers.
i don't expect £5m strikers. though i do expect a push for promotion after the sports village debacle.
