Martin Atkinson not demoted for Rodwell red card...

    Martin Atkinson hasn't been given a temporary demotion from the Premier League despite the red card he showed to Jack Rodwell being overturned.

    Professional Game Match Officials Limited announced on Monday Atkinson will be in charge of Stoke v Fulham on Saturday.

    Rodwell successfully appealed against his red card in the Merseyside derby - a match that Liverpool went on to win 2-0.

    God help us on Saturday then - was it Atkinson who failed to see the juggling act by Lee Cattermole on the line at the Stadium of Light last season?

    Not sure. I thought he was the one who disallowed the Sidibe goal at Villa Park in our 2nd season.

    :steam:Just checked on the internet and Atkinson did referee the game between The Mackems and Stoke last season, 6 November 2010, and that was the game where we were denied a blatant penalty when Cattermole handled the ball, TWICE, on the line.
