CNN reporting there wont be a 'smoking gun' in the report linking MBS directly to the killing. They do refer to a company owned by him owning planes used by the killers. Dunno if that's sufficient for PL to kybosh the deal.

PIF re-assessed their statement from last year. They have not publically dismissed talk of their coming back. To suggest otherwise is based on zero evidence. PIF has not issued a statement in 2021 saying 'we are not buying Newcastle United.'

But - the developments today have effectively put the kibosh on the deal. MBS ordering PIF to annex an airline so thst Saudi assassins could use their private jets in the Khassoggi murder is evidence suggesting that PIF are state controlled.

I can't see how the legal separation argument can stand up now. That is evidence of direct control by MBS. The PL can now argue that MBS directly controls PIF and so the club are state owned. He would be required to be assessed as a director, or the state would have to be listed. The latter is impossible. MBS would fail the ODT on conduct. He ordered the murder of khassoggi - a criminal offence under UK law. That conduct is part of the ODT.

 

In conclusion, NUFC are league one bound, or to be bought by a bunch of Yanks poorer than Ashley with even less love for the game.
