Morning all, just a quick check-in before I head off to work from a wet and windy Jersey.

Ak, could you do those of us who are on the diet a favour and put something healthier than donuts on the bar?

Jsyb they are made with the best quality organic components, even the oil they are fried in is best extra virgin olive oil.
And I could put some fruit tomorrow.

Morning all. Lovely wet Spring morning here. Still October showers make November flowers and all that.
The earth has been restless lately. We've had a number of tremors over 5 with a 5.5 on Sunday evening (not long after Argentina scored, funnily enough). Haven't had the shakes in a while and we all thought we were getting passed that.

Sorry to hear that you have the shakes NZ.......could you be drinking too much? ;)

To be serious though, just how long can this continue? Has it put re-building on hold?

See that you are also having problems with oil tankers now. :(

Apparently alcohol consumption has doubled in Christchurch in the last 12 months! It certainly has in this household.
The rebuild of the city centre hasn't started yet. First they have to pull the old buildings down, which is not as easy as it sounds - well it isn't easy if you don't want to destroy buildings that have survived.

NZ, do you think that there'll be an NZ v Eng test match in Christchurch when England tour in Feb/Mar 2013? I'm looking to go to one of the three in that series as it's not long after my 40th.

Evening all - just listening on the radio that our "world class" striker Rooney might get a 3 match ban for last weeks petulance, this would mean that he would miss the group stages of the Euro's next summer - I wonder if the FA would have the balls not to consider not including him in the squad? I doubt it somehow....

I would doubt it. The stadium is okay except that most of the stands are now on a rather large lean. I can't see them fixing it by 2013. On the other hand the rugby stadium will get priority over other things.

What's a little lean to be afraid of? Big Ben has apparently developed one worse than Pisa, but nothing's being done about it!

I thought that I was the only person not to visit today, but it looks like everyone has a day off. My reason is my new computer at work. I put all my personal files in a safe place and the clever people have renamed all the servers and I have lost them. I will try and find them tomorrow.

Sorry to hear you're shaking again NZ, hope it doesn't last long.

w_y, i doubt very much that they'd leave Rooney out...we don't have anyone who can play like him, and we need him. I'm sure if there were other options, he'd not get a seat on the plane.
