Anyone remember walking through that west stand tunnel in full voice after a win? Anyone remember jumping on the guy in fronts back in celebration in Kempton, or being buffeted about behind the south stand goal? Happy times..... **** times too but you forget the bad days after a while...
I'll leave this as a separate thread for now, but merge it with the history thread later, so they're up there permanently.
It was, but then it was criminal what was done with the North Stand. What was the real story behind that happening; who was responsible? I remember it was under Robinson's tenure but was it out of his hands or not? He was saying how there would be a dome or something with top concerts taking place blah blah which of course never happened. It was just an eyesore in what was once a proud grand old stadium.
I get where you are coming from Ernie ,but to me that atmosphere, that vibe, that feeling of being involved, the honesty of the players on show(certainly in the 60's and 70's),all added up to our 'spiritual home' never being anywhere near replaced by the K.C.!!! In short...I've never felt at home where we are now.
Proper ground, with great fans. Who remembers the letters around the main stand ? And at half time checking your programme to see the match scores, also I miss the Golden goal tickets.....!
