I'd expect us to stay up with Wilson in the team, but who is going to score the goals? Is our defence strong enough without a decent right back? What happens if either Almiron or Saint Max are injured? Our saving grace is I simply don't believe Fulham have enough quality to finish with more than 33 points.
Fulham are really poor and they don’t even have their own players. Can you really rely on loanees to fight to the end?
Stat alert. League table based on results since Christmas Day. No surprises who is bottom. Brighton are 8th. They were robbed tonight. Only 9 defeats all season.
We don't even need to win games, could do with not being so ****ing poor at defending that we on occasion draw a game or two. Its just one way or the other for Bruce, we win one and lose 2/3. It's not good enough. Fulham and Brighton have caught up or surpassed us through drawing games alone, they've both won a pitiful amount of games. If we had statisticians running the club like Liverpool do, we woulda sacked Bruce about 2 months ago. It's been obvious were we're going. No doubt whatsoever in my mind we will go down. If we don't it will be pure luck.
The notion that Fulham are poor I disagree with.. They've just been wasting chances all season. They have lost only 3 or 4 in the time we've lost 14. All eyes are on Fulham, but personally I have my eye firmly on Burnley... I believe Burnley are a worse side.
Brighton as well. Lost 9 games. Only two more than Liverpool. They have drawn 11. Brighton do not have a finisher.
Hopefully Rafa will be reminded by this of the important lesson that you never go back, no matter how popular you were!
So nothing happening then? Question - if PIF have an interest in the club even if it goes down, why can't they pay £150m now to take control then another £150m if it stays up, or whatever the negotiation would be?
MA wouldn't sign off on that deal - he'd almost certainly rather retain a number of the current squad who got us out of the Championship last time - Gayle, Atsu, Hayden, Shelvey, Lacselles, Clark, Dummet, Darlow. Add in the Longstaff brothers, Carroll, Joelinton, Atsu, Murphy, Hendricks, Krafth, Lewis, Fraser who would all likely stay and be a "solid" basis to get promoted again. Add 7 or 8 to the "staying list" above (possibly Woodman and Anderson from the U21's as well) for say £20m/free transfers/loans and Ashley will think he can get Bruce to bring us back up. Then money raised for Wilson, ASM, Miggy, Fernandez, Dubravka, Manquillo (must be worth £60-80m between them even relegated). All this combined means Ashley wouldn't dream of losing £150m+ on the deal when he can risk coming back up.
