Just watched this kids interview and omg what's not to like about everything he's said. I've had a drink or two but I can't think of a time when I've heard a guy speak that got me genuinely excited and at my age it's not a good thing. We've given ourselves a hard catch up job but when a team gets on a roll as we are now then anything is possible. Next station Crewe all change here for the Championship, you've got to believe in something or what's the point. I'm off to bed.
Just watched the interview again. If Donald thought that his legacy was to leave the club debt free like he insinuated in his welcome to Sunderland speech, KLD has blown that out of the water and then some!
By the way, when discussing fpp earlier I mentioned that KLD might have seen their plans and that might form part of his vision. Given the the questions were basically fed to the interviewer I'd listen to the last one.
We're getting a monorail!!!!! Seriously though, the last bit was interesting. Seems like it might not just be the club getting a bit of a spruce up!
I don't know loads about him, less than some of the people on here in all likelihood. I do know that people think this might be a way for him to prove he can run Marseille. From what I've heard, his ambitions might not be limited to a football club in France, it might not be Marseille he wants to run and that he wants to prove himself worthy of...
With us averaging over 30k in League One, surpassing what the likes of Wolves, Leeds and Man City achieved, I don't think anyone could throw that at us. Absolutely staggering support.
I think football will always be a passion he'll want to be involved in. Day to day his ambitions might be closer to home. In terms of his attitude towards the fans and trying to improve fan experience etc, well I did say I was fairly certain he didn't have any issue with the RAWA statement that caused such a stir, and that might not have been a guess. Let's just say he mentioned tonight that he wants to engage in a structured way with fans from now . I think it started a little earlier. He'll do his own thing, but he's more than open to listening to fans suggestions. Not around running the club or owt that we would never want to get involved in, but the fan side of things he'll be open to
Yeah basically a big **** you to Donald. The arsehole patted himself on the back despite the fans knowing the truth and KLD has basically come in and said everything we thought.
Well, if there's a £38bn or whatever business in the family, what better way to prove you can run it than showing you can do it in a business as voliatile and unpredictable as football. If you have a passion for it anyway, genuinely want to do it, find a club for low cost with potential for growth in an area ripe for investment. Think how impressive it would look if you made it work . I'll say it now, I don't think the lad wants to own Marseille and I'll be amazed if he ever does. I don't think that's the end game
I was totally stunned when he said "asset stripped", at first thought he had misspoken as English is not his first language, Then I realised that this interview was recorded and not live ,and he would have had ample opportunity to re-record if he wanted to. Good on him for calling out the Madrox crew.
Yep , he knows Donald is a ****. The delay to the deal came not long after the bailout by the way. Totally unrelated though I'm sure
I would love to hear what you have heard about Donald's antics, I know you can't say but would be nice to see the end of the nice bloke, best intentions, too big a job ****e. The lies was the first sign of his intentions, he couldn't stick to the same story in one interview never mind over a few months.
Telling as it is will help his “structured engagement programme” no end. We’ve had so much horseshit from Stumpy and Slimy that his best course of action is being 100% straight with everyone from the very beginning. I hope Corden and his marras at Fulwell73 are watching as this will make an excellent season 3, I had to watch the first two through my fingers so it would make a pleasant change.
Yeah it's one of those where it wouldn't be helpful and would probably cause more bother than it's worth. I'll say this though, if our fans knew everything he'd never step foot in this city again (and I supported him for longer than many). Mentioned it at the time to prehab and wackyjacky who I know off the board (@Prehab26 has probably heard about it since from elsewhere) . Not worth dwelling on now but he's not a well meaning failure. He would have ****ed us when we needed security the most. We're lucky that doing so showed his hand to KLD who still wanted us, but from that moment on he was never going to be involved, which likely led to the removal of the lot of them as directors. He's gone, **** him, and this lad genuinely has big plans. It's all good now, thank ****
Appreciate the reply mate. As I said earlier his lies were telling for me. Like many I believed what we were hearing at the time but it became obvious that it was all talk no action. So far in KLD's reign we have seen action lots of it and have probably just heard our only bit of talk for a while.
