Souness says Tella should have been booked for looking for the pen.
Not a word on Bamfords dive appealing for a pen.

 

What annoys me is if Leeds scored from a free kick like that and it was allowed to stand everyone would be going ****ing mental at the referee. You cannot have it both ways.

 

Tom, it’s pathetic, he puts the whistle in his mouth and blows it... then he clearly says he wasn’t ready.

If the ball was played a millisecond early, how has that made a difference and why did he say he wasn’t ready.


Once again, the referee wanting to be centre stage.

Makes me laugh when old ****s like Souness and Keane go on about cheating they often tried to end player's careers when they played.

 

I also expect to see every single free kick, every week be pulled back if it happens before the refs whistle by a millisecond, especially those for the defending team in the edge of their own box.

I understand why it was pulled back. Think it's disappointing to not allow a quick free kick from near the centre circle though.

 

Why bother having Souness as a Saints ‘sided’ commentator. He’s so anti us. First thing he said today was how Ings should be playing for a better club than us. Every decision talked about, he’s gone against us too. Whilst we don’t want a biased opinion, we do want to hear a balanced analysis. Looking at the Pen. replays, I thought NT had dived, I am not so sure now, there is a hint of a push from Llorente in there. but Nathan clearly tripped over the outstretched leg, I am not sure he could have avoided it.

Fair enough, but with Bamfords going down easy and claimed for a pen ....should also be a yellow.

I'm at the stage where I'd quite like VAR put in the bin. As Vin stated on here recently, it's simply shifting opinions from one person to another. So really, all I ask of VAR now is that the ref goes and reviews his own decisions. After tonight, I don't even want that. It's either a penalty for accidental obstruction or simulation and a booking. It cannot possibly be what actually happened right?

 

It was midway inside the Leeds half, near enough to their goal to get a real advantage by taking it quickly.
