Got a 'knock' in a CL game in early December and it was thought it wouldn't be long. Weeks went by and he ended up in a brace Its a knee injury
you missed him off your reply to Sucky earlier but since he didn't bother correcting you i let it ride
I left him off, as he’s not part of the best front 3 in der Wuuurrrllld mate. Merely good cover off the bench
he was pretty much first choice when he got injured as i'm sure you knew . and so does Sucky tbf but i doubt he even read all of your post
He started 5 league games largely when Mane and Salah weren’t available due to COVID. You’re being plain daft if you’re trying to make out he was a first pick ahead of any of your front 3 before his injury.
I think its a case of 3 becoming 4 without a drop in quality. It's surprising but Jota was a 1 in 3 goalscorer for Wolves and that ratio will only increase with a better team around him.
I think he’s a good player mate, but I was surprised just how quick he settled in and his goal ratio, as he never struck me as being potentially prolific. His return will give you options and a genuine goal threat off the bench. All pisstaking aside your bench the other day in terms of attacking options and genuine quality was worse than ours. Shaqiri, Keita, Chamberlain and Origi vs DCL, King, Allan, Sigurdsson, Bernard and Iwobi.
Yeah, he was a bit of a surprise when signed. I think we were looking at Sarr(?) at Watford and all of a sudden Jota was announced. He looks like another decent signing and its a relief to see him back. Our bench does look poor at the mo. for obvious reasons. Shaq can do it on occasions but ideally you want a bit more threat, Keita I like but has had his much talked about injury problems, Ox has struggled post injury and has not seemed the same player and Origi's time at the club is done even though he will remain a cult hero for important goals in big games. The rest of the bench are kids that wouldn't normally be anywhere near but hey ho.
not really as you assume he wouldn't continue to be regular starter where as i disagree since he was clearly in better form than Firmino & probably Mane . The starting 11 isn't set in stone and players when given the chance can force themselves into a starting role .
When he first joined, he was a back up / rotational option. But he is genuine starting option now and would have definitely Brought more freshness to our front line which is clearly struggled over the past 1-2 months (Salah aside).
We did seemingly turn to **** not Long after he was out. Injured in the game he didn't need to play in against FC Midtylland and then other than the Palace 7-0 it's generally all been ****.
we did play all four as well. example v sheff utd at anfield and we won 2-1 all 4 started in a 4231. maybe he is a reserve for VVD instead and thats why he got injured. Fabinho played cb and jota came in lol. curse of the VVD replacements strikes again lol jota started 4 of 6 cl games and came on in the others. he also started 5 of the 9 league games he was available for. Whatever the circumstances 17 games, 9 goals, 0 assists. is not too bad and hardly a back up player approach. Origi - back up rubbish. IMo you can see that 10minutes last ditch option right there. Jota was bought to play at 45mil
