I saw Led Zepp in the Argus Butterfly one Sunday night, must have been around 1968 or 69

Small Faces did the Mecca same year, John Peel recalled it was the best gig he ever attended, as the place went mad, I was still out and about in London that particular Saturday night , some weekend that one.

Agree. Showed a maturity beyond his years/experience when the melee started on Saturday, which resulted in their player being sent off. When he joined in he was pulling players away, including Power, to not get involved and potentially also being sent off. Well impressed, as with his display.

Thanks for digging that up! They were booked for £100 - wow!

On one track I remember Jimmy Page playing his guitar with a violin bow! Never seen anything like it before.

It’s one of those things that I sometimes find hard to believe it actually happened

Dazed and Confused with the old bow going, marvellous!

Did you the rest of the link, the same promoter passed on the chance to book another act for £100 as it was too much for only one guy...Elton John!

That's if they want to sell him. He's done well out of position at Cardiff and now he's coming into his own here and doing well in his favoured position. He's still only young (more so) for a centre half at 21, they may very well want a closer look at him after this season.

Great days those, amazing how the music scene became the phenomena it was, and against all the odds, I watched the Beatles, Eight Days a Week - The Touring Years last night, fascinating insights from whoever cut and pasted it all.
