Sadly not due to the travel restrictions between the UK and Germany. My basement family, as I like to call them, are disappointed that they can't go out and meet people. Though that's got nothing to do with the Corona rules. Can you get your army of Russian lesbians to sort the rest of the squad out?
Indeed. If the loan goes well, either he comes back to us a better player or it helps him find a different club where he plays more often (and hopefully makes us a profit).
More to the point, he is a player with a cool finish. The last time he started was at Palace and we didn’t too badly did we? When you consider that Klopp now brings on Origi and Shaqiri from the bench, was he really the best player to loan out to Southampton?
The only two times i saw him play before you bought him was against you, i thought at the time he was absolutely perfect for your team and style. Since then when i have seen him in the PL he has looked to be struggling with the physicality of the league, maybe a loan like he has now is all he needs to acclimatise.
I thought we should have tried that set up again and that Minamino was treated quite harshly . However i can't see him ever being a first choice starter for us and most Saints fans despite his goals aren't that impressed as the same problems of giving the ball away , being lightweight and an impression that games seem to go on around him . Mind you as someone who has not been as critical of Origi as others over the years i'd rather he was loaned than Minanino .
Incredible that one, I can barely remember a more one sided game. But somehow won with 2 top drawer touches.
was saying to my mates at about 94 minutes this is the most one sided 1-1 I’ve seen for a long long time.. abs then bam Feel like I may have jinxed it. Pretty much sums up Brighton this year though tbh. they have lots of nice technical players up top in gross trossard lallana mac allister but none of them score goals. So you’re relying on winning 1-0 which has been fine last 6 games but as soon as concede 1 or more they’re screwed.
I do like Potter as a manager. Needs to get him team scoring more but they create lots of half decent chances, bit more quality and could get teams scoring lots of goals. Wonder if a team like Spurs would take a risk on him soon. Needs maybe another couple years to prove himself but can see him getting a big job soon. You see the way Pep talks about him, must have something about him to impress Pep, especially when says the type of team he would like to play for. Maybe one to keep an eye on over next few years for when Klopp moves on.
I think a lot of the credit for the change in style of play at Brighton is down to Dan Ashworth tbh. He came in and changed the entire ethos at the club, and helped install a method of playing that now goes right through the levels there. He hired Potter as a manager who he thought would fit that ethos and tbf together they’ve achieved it, when you consider the way they played previously under Houghton. If they can find a 15-20 goal a season striker from somewhere they’d be in business imo.
The problem for brighton is they cant afford this situation; they are allowing fulham catch up and so could easy be relegated as a result. Palace fans are all bored stiff of hodgson but the devil they know keeps delivering points. In the end its a results game and potter isn't delivering results. Look at what fat sham did at west brom. Wheres my set peice taker was his first question in the door. Snodgrass procured. Wheres my target man. etc etc Potter looks like a guy who will beat his head against a wall doing the same things over and over while getting praise for neice football. the real deal finds a way to win games. At this stage arteta has changed his side 3 times. First defensively, then bringin in the yuong lad at no 10 etc. the issue is it keeps going to **** lol. Potter needs to change SOMETHING as he now needs 5 wins and the sooner the better before the pressure really builds.
Not to be cynical but I think the reason to let him leave on loan was purely financially driven i.e. to get a loan fee for him and get his wages off the books in order to fund Kabak and Davies. FSG have done a lot for this club but I cannot excuse them for their actions in the Jan window.
