Thanks for explaining the science. My son tried but it goes over my head. He also has had the Pfizer (he's a doctor and has at times had to leave his operation list and been required frontline) so is well clued up on it. As I said I didn't have a choice which vaccine and am grateful to have had it whichever it was to be. I had a sore arm for two days and (don't laugh) a sore jaw, both of which eased at the same time. The papers that came with the vaccination said side effects were headache, chills, nausea and pain or swelling around the injection site, no mention of jaw ache <laugh> My sister had the Pfizer and said she was freezing for about 24 hours. People I know who've had the AstraZeneca have ranged from no side effects to feeling like they had full blown flu for 24 hours. I've also read (because I've got nothing else to do) that your blood type could play a part in how you respond.

To be fair, reading about vaccine side-effects is probably more pleasant than reading about us at the moment.

I avoid reading about football in general :)As for us, we'll come good, I have no doubt. This team has given us everything in the last couple of seasons, I'm cutting them some slack. Our name is on multiple trophies for ever, only a handful of clubs can claim that <ok>

The sore jaw is common. That is the glands under the jaw. Everyone has a different immune system so the response is different. A good strong response is a good sign.

Tbh I wasn't expecting any physical response as I've never had any following vaccinations. When I had my BCG back in the dark ages, the commonest response was a blister forming on the injection site leaving a permanent shiny patch on the skin. My sister had reacted like this a few years previously and so did nearly all my classmates. I had nothing, not even a mark. So I was surprised that I had a reaction to the Covid jab. I believe there's a lower side effect response to the second dose so hopefully I won't feel like I've been chewing gum for two days straight.

I remember at the time people talking about side effects of a rushed vaccine etc

someone listed a load of side effects of some drugs which talk about kidney failure and other horrible sounding stuff... that drug was paracetamol. Feel like they just shove a load of stuff as a catch all to cover their own ass in the off chance 1 in the 60 million people develop a 2nd nose that they can say they did warn it was a possible side effect so you can’t sue us

If you've ever been to yankland their ads for any medicine are hilariously scary. its the law to reveal any and all adverse effect and potential misuse.

The repsonsbility is squarely on the manufacturer

the benefits are then kind of lost

Indeed and agreed. I just hope our finances and confidence aren't too shattered in the meantime.

I think we dropped a level at the restart of last season and it has continued. There's no obvious reason for the change, we're just taking a while to get back in gear. It's frustrating but not the end of the world.

Anyone paying attnetion to the tesla/bitcoin gamble?

Bitcoin has risen massively as bored investors follow elon misks gambling/insider trading and now the sell off is coming.

Investore in telsa which is also a massive bubble are now panicking and selling off there too.

Apparently musk has lost 15billion fake value as a result.

Bitcoin imo is like the old story of tulip bulb trading in amsterdam. There is no value to bitcoin except design in semi rarity. It has zero real value unless people demand it. 57,000 a coin at the top (now 48k) and it was down to 5k after the last bubble.

Telsa was 90 dollars and is now 700 dollars despite selling faff all cars.

The next financial crash is imo fairly obvious

Although I see why this is voiced, I don't really see it as a justifiable reason, most clubs benefit from having fans in the stadium, hence "home advantage".

Man City could play on a deserted island and not be effected but were not in competition with them now, haven't been for a few weeks.

Results since 1 January put us 17th in the league. Only Newcastle, West Brom & Sheff Utd (I think it was them, definitely thre first two) have been worse.

We have had a down turn since the restart last season but we were still in good form at the start of this season, just seemed worse because the previous standards had been so damn high. Despite the injuries, we were top at Christmas because we were scraping wins together. Losing Jota was a big blow imo.

If you take it in isolation, regardless of what any other team is doing, we are missing the fans.

I would say that every team is performing differently since the restart and for every one it's a different reason. City are performing differently as well. Their heads went early on when we were doing so well last season and they had very unpredictable results. It seems like if they get a sniff that they can't win, they lose interest. They didn't have the best start this season and I'm convinced that it's our results that have spurred them on as much as anything. We have been their only real rivals in recent times.

I felt we got a big boost v wolves from the crowd but i dunno who we let in after.cos it was dead as a door nail v west brom.

Imo fitness is the key. I just do not think they did a good job with preaseason. I dont think theyve got it right since on most players ops and return to play and we are suffering big time.

Compared to several teams, we've got some of the best athletes in the world, fitness shouldn't be a problem. We've put in some great performances but had no end product. Adrián v Villa very early on in the season sapped the confidence out of the team but since then we've also had Palace ......

Losing Jota for a long period didn't help because he was meant to keep the front 3 on their toes which he did with aplomb. I can't see one specific reason just lots of different ones all coming together which in the most unusual season ever, has made it hard to rise above. Dare I say it, it's getting increasingly harder not to see a systematic agenda by the referees against us. I know people think that's an excuse and normally I would to but we're now on -11 on the VAR table, that's simply outrageous and doesn't even take into account the shocking fouls against us not given. The only way to combat the (perceived) bias against us is to do what we've been doing since Klopp came and overcome it by out scoring the opposition - hasn't worked too well so far but I'm confident it's just around the corner.

I've seen us out worked and out run several times. We've dropped right off that level we were at.
