Other team's rivalries always seem a bit meh unless you're a fan of one of those teams. But if you know, you know.

Anyway, what do you make of Brenda being linked with Spurs ? I know it's just a rumour, but could be a good move if you can get him

Leicester City boss Brendan Rodgers is a leading contender to replace Jose Mourinho as Tottenham manager - after nearly landing the job nine years ago.

@FosseFilberto thoughts ?

Same as him being linked with other jobs to date... he left Celtic, a much bigger club, for our 'project' ... and seems happy enough with how it's going. If that changes, he'll leave ... but realistically, what would going to Tottenham serve? "bigger club" yes ... but what does that mean if you still won't be given a war chest to rival Citeh, United and 'Pool (even Chelsea)? ... a ticking time bomb like Mourinho is sitting on ... Brenda's no fool.

Can't stand Rodgers...that ****ing one arm celebration makes him look an irritating twat.

Honestly can not see why he'd leave Leicester to join us. They will have CL football next season, have a balanced squad and have a sensible transfer system whereas we resemble a car crash!

Dollar bills.

Plus the challenge. He’s got a big enough ego to be tempted.

... pretty much agree ... apart from the irritating twat bit <laugh>

Another good days footie, on paper at least, today.

From our POV could probably do with a draw in the first game. Should be a decent game, Moyes has got them flying and you never know what to expect from Spurs these days. If both sides turn up and have a go, could be a spectacle.

Brenda has managed Liverpool, so I reckon he's pretty ambitious and would like to get back to a big club at some point. Lesta have given him a good spring board and he's definitely in the shop window so to speak. If an offer came in, I think he'd find it hard to turn down.

Spurs are going to need some massive investment soon and Levy probs won't provide it, unless they sell Kane of course. So yes, there are problems there and Maureen himself is a ticking time bomb even without the background issues. So for that reason I hope Mo stays put to **** them right up first. <laugh>

Then they can have Brenda.

Celtic are one of the biggest clubs in the world ... <doh>

Should be a decent game, there's always a lot of pride at stake in that fixture. Maureen will probably find a way to suck all of the life out of it though.

We're getting bent over and gaped later. I'd take anything other than a total mauling at this point.

I'd agree with you but I also think it gets a bit diluted by the fans drawn from the peripheries... I live in Hertfordshire and there is just about an even split between Goonz and Spuds in places like St Albans and Harpenden etc they all travel to the derby games on the Thameslink together with little hint of any bad feeling.

Can't speak for other derbies but the atmosphere at a NLD is electric, tense and poisonous.
I think it's a positive thing that people are friendly before hand...that's the biggest difference to the awful days of football fans trying to kill each other at games. At least today's hateful ****s **** off and slash each other away from the game

Big club, shame about the league.

He was there when it was a one club league as well, as opposed to a 2 club one that it’s been for decades,

Kind of wasn't Celtic's fault what happened to Rangers, but yeah it totally killed any competition in that league.

Seem to remember Celtic had some decent CL runs though when Brenda was there.

Having seen them school us on Weds, they’re absolutely on fire at the minute mate. I think the goal we scored was the first they’d conceded from open play in about 10 league games ffs. Ridiculous.

Seeing the oppo fans in your stadium, after you've been singing about them being a bunch of ****s all season, and then directing those songs straight at them, is a special moment in any rival fans experience <laugh>

Yeah that's what I mean, Lesta don't really have an intense local rivalry, like Villa/Brum, Arsenal/Spurs, Southampton/Portsmouth.

As you say, Coventry are probably geographically the closest, but that's a bit meh really.

Arsenal vs Spurs is the most meh derby going imo. Never got it, it’s like a bunch of Glenns and Simons saying they’ll bloody down a pint of cider if they lose.

The football is usually decent like, which is more than I can say for our 0-0’s with our neighbours.
