Ju st had a quick look at the fixtures. On paper we have an easier fixture list but we have to be 4 points better off than Fulham by the last game of the season.
After tonight’s game. We have 4 winnable games. CW is right. Sack Bruce and have a go at them 3 games and win say 3/4 we are in business. They have Spurs, Liverpool, Man City and Leeds.
Let’s not kid ourselves. Was lovely to pretend for a while, but we could get humped 5-0 tonight and Bruce will still be gormlessly smiling through talking about dust, sleeves and unfortunately. He’ll use exactly that reasoning - lost players, winnable fixtures - and Charnley/Ashley will go for it. This is about watching on to see what happens. It’s a slow mo car crash.
And in my simple mind we as fans can’t lose. If we do lose and get relegated we get to tell the world we where right and SB relegated his own ****ing team for the money. Or we survive by the skin of our teeth and the takeover goes through and he’s gone anyways. We just have to eat a bit of humble pie! Either way win win.
If you look at our next 9 compared to their next 9 we really need to be at least 9 points clear of them going into the final 6 games. Basically we need to have 35 points minimum after the West Ham game or we are ****ed regardless.
3 I think. If we can scrape 4 wins and 2 draws by the end of the season that’s 39 points. That should be enough.
As long as we are 3 points ahead of them going into the Sheff Utd game we should be ok. They play Manu second last game of the season.
Agreed. These next 8/9 games will define our season regardless though. It really is the time to sack bruce from Ashley's point of view. Giving him the Wolves game could be one game too many. I just think the Graham Jones arrival will be significant in that, will he really back Bruce by allowing him to bring in a new assistant manager but then sack him 5 games later? Ashley will likely ride this out to the end with Bruce.
Time for me was 2 minutes into his first interview. He was a shocking appointment in the first place. He’s a shocking manager who demonstrates no awareness of tactics, or man management and whose record speaks for itself. He was a typical Ashley choice. A no mark who would simply be pleased to have the job and would follow the “party line” and not make any demands.
At the end of the day we still have 3 points on Fulham and a game in hand.. I'd rather be us than them right now... We can see them off in March potentially, but if we don't I fear the worst
This. 4 of our last 6 games are horrific. 35 points minimum after the West Ham game for me or we are ****ed.
