I still think it's going to happen, but I'm concerned that we might go down and that'll be that. It's a relegation battle on steroids this one
I just can't see them going ahead before the end of the season... They'll be throwing 150 million away rather than wait 12 weeks
And there is no harm in him coming in to assess the mess prior to the seasons conclusion. As there are a couple of players out of contract at the end of the season.
At least it’s meaningful. For the first time in Ashley’s tenure it feels like there is something to play for. Just our luck that we may end up going down. The only person who will really suffer if we do go down is Ashley. He will lose a fortune.
It won’t mate. If Rafa comes in it will be to save the season. If he can’t do it then they get the club at the end of the season at a discount. They can then use that discounted saving and buy players with it. To us fans we end up spending a season or two in the championship. We would be rid of Ashley, Charnley and Bruce. Short term pain for long term gain.
And another thing. If we do get relegated we would have a massive advantage over the other championship teams if covid is still around as we would have the parachute payments. They won’t have the daily match day revenue so effectively will have shoe string budgets.
I think he does. He was the consortium's first choice. Perhaps Benitez has been in the Bahamas meeting the new owners....
They'll bring him in, but we still won't have much time and if we go down they'll say they got what they asked for.
Somewhere in my mind I'm hoping Ashley's said look take it now for 250 million... You never know in sure they're capable of thrashing out a deal that suits even in the current situation
By they do you mean the media? Well he would have 13 games to effectively better Fulham’s results. And there are some winnable games in that. I have not looked at Fulham’s fixtures but I suppose we could do a points tally for both teams with competent managers. It all depends on just how much damage has been done by Bruce. But a delegation won’t be the end of the world provided Ashley and co are gone.
@Darren Peacock's Ponytail Here mate De Marco has made himself a breakfast is he allowed to spend any personal time eating on a Sunday morning?
I don't think you can do much in 13 games, but it's possible a good manager could right the very basic errors bruce has been making and we see improvements straight away. It's now or never... Sack him or wait 4 games and it'll be too late for sure
