With no senior CB's returning until August at the earliest and plenty of others on the injury list we are ****ed. Leipzig is one thing, as and when we meet a better side we will struggle over two legs. Pray for Porto.
Even the closet Kopite Tyler picked up on the stats I’ve been reminding you lads of for months tonight btw. That you’ve been on the slide for a full 12 months.
your constant references to "easy wins" when we are on a run of appalling form just fly in the face of reality tbh .
err our on the slide still meant we were one of the best teams in Europe its just we have stopped sliding & moved to free fall .
You are not wrong. We were in denial at the end of last season and there was a lot of excuses about having won it already and taking the foot off the pedal. The problem is there was more to it than that and we have to put it right now. Every team now comes to Anfield with a similar gameplan and lately , they have been winning or drawing. So we have a massive problem to solve this Summer. This season is over for us really
we've lost 7 of the last 12 so i think i can fairly say that it has got a tad worse if that is ok with you .
Donga reporting in for total butt-****ing. Agree with everything that Souness and Carra said - deserved by Everton, and no whines. Well except one, just got to mention - THAT pen: ffs, eh? That's two derbies this season that Everton have had every call, and I've still got relatives who go on about Clive Thomas, let alone Clattenburg. But a Manc ref and an Italian manager - what could wrong? Null and void the season now. Everton best in all departments in fairness.
My sisters report rockets and convoys of honking cars in West Derby and County Rd btw, almost as many as we had in June. Pandemic or not, will there be an open top bus parade? There's a Manc referee who was delighted at the end of the game who'd gladly drive them, I'm sure.
30? At best 10? We stopped running and started crabbing very quickly. The sad truth is Everton shut down that right wing avenue pretty quick
Carlo made the change at about 57 minutes I think, as Gomes was offering nothing to assist Digne as he’d been booked and looked leggy, and after that and then the subsequent introduction of DCL about 4 or 5 mins later, that was about it really.
Five years to build that team - five weeks for it to fall to pieces. As you know, my biggest gripe is not a sense of entitlement that we must win every game because we're Liverpool, but incredulity that we still keep playing the same 4-3-3 when we haven't the talent on the pitch to do it. Other teams have had horrendous injury crises, including Soton who deservedly beat us, but the majority, including City when they had theirs, adapted their formations to the players available. Unforgivably dickheaded to not adapt to your environment, as Darwin would sort of put it.
And we didn't score when we had that ascendancy. And that's because the best front three in Europe for nearly three years are just a shadow of themselves, and really has been for many months now.
Thought Davies was mint with the job at hand today. Always rated him at that. Foot in, comfortable on the ball, reliable. I've always rated Gomes - a Redknapp, head -up player. But he was beginning to get swamped today. That's the difference between Ancelotti and previous Everton managers in the last two decades - others would have left him on, a walking sending-off about to happen.
