All at sea is a bit strong. He’s not a natural defender but made up for it by giving everything. Ran his heart out for the team, what more do you want?
A good defensive performance always encourages me and that was from everyone from 1-11 apart from Danny's little misdemeanor in the box. That was the most committed i've ever seen Moussa and he was crucial in helping out Bedders on the right he deserves a few free drinks tonight!
A word for Alex, who was pretty much faultless today. Commanded his area and made a couple of important saves.
F*cking hell - just seen Saints fans on the facebook page saying they are losing confidence in Ralph. Beyond belief that people can't recognise that as a good result.
Call me unduly hopeful, but it would be good if 'the powers that be' review the fouls, and determine that some action should be taken against the perpetrators. Maybe stop their pocket money, or take away their phones
My comment was not meant as a criticism of the player, more a note to the poster to not go saying he can defend I did say he worked his socks off and I was chuffed with him today. and yes, all at sea a bit strong
The game was a hard watch for me, although we dug in and defended well I hate watching a Saints side get dominated. When your up against a very good footballing side you've sometimes just got to dig in and let the opposition come at you, but I'd much prefer us to dictate the game. Whinge over, great point, well earned.
I don't think that Danny is that much off form it's just today a different role was required of him because he clearly wasn't seeing too much of the ball.
I had Vestergaard just, just pipping Salisu to MOTM, but a very close call. We've gone from two years of not having a worthwhile CB, to having three really solid options. This result, even though it's only one point, completes takes the heat off the next week for me. And if we have our missing four all back for Sheff Utd (or very shortly thereafter), we can then really attack things again thereafter.
If they use all ten fingers and both thumbs to type their messages, they're probably bitter Skates. Actually, just Skates, there aren't any Skates that aren't bitter.
The past two penalty takers (for Wolves, and today, for Chelsea) have simply waited for Alex to commit himself, then rolled the ball into the opposite corner. Maybe Alex needs to wait a split second longer. If this would make any difference, that is.
We can dominate teams when we have a fully fit team. I always look at the subs coming on. Chelsea bring on seasoned internationals, we bring on raw academy lads. We have a 100 million pound team, Chelsea have 100 million pound players. With what we have got we are doing as well as we can. Unless refs and VAR poke their noses in.
