Apparently we are being linked with Rio Ferdinand-ex Hammer and almost perpetually injured. http://www.caughtoffside.com/2011/1...centre-back-rio-ferdinand-to-white-hart-lane/ Do we have a sign on the door saying crocked defenders welcome? It would be nice to sign one that is completely fit.
Ensil- I understand your reaction and I think it might be the Hammer connection again. Just making an observation- as someone reminded me yesterday we are just putting it up for discussion.
Caughtoffside is less credible than the Fail. But it does worry me that these rumours even come about. Ferdinand no doubt is world class........ When fit. His wages would be insane anyway and not worth paying out for when he can only play around 20 games a season. I actually wanted Gary Cahill last window, but after Kaboul's recent performances and Ledders actually playing, with (hopefully) Dawson and Gallas nearing some sort of return, Bassong in reserve with Corluka an option too, PLUS Caulker and Khumalo to come back from loan spells for next season, I actually think we're pretty good for centre halves. Though no doubt 'Arry will add another two in January
Apart from the source, City got 90 mins and a goal out Hargreaves in 3 weeks...more than United managed in 3yrs!
I thought Caughtoffside were a joke site?? You saying that they they are real but make up stories like all newspapers? They do seem to have a new Spurs 'story' every day... let's 2nd guess... Seeing Walcott is 'stalling' on extending his contract then a spurs link is bound to happen... no wait, Liverpool will be linked with him by Thursday! Monster Monster
We've been linked with him before, but it's basically a non-story. He'll probably either sign an extension at Man Utd or go for one last money grab in the US or the Middle East.
He's always come across as a player who loves to be playing. If he can't get it at United and can at Spurs, I think he'd love to join us. Imagine how great it'd be for the likes of Caulker to be training with Gallas, King and Rio.
That'd be one impressive treatment table! He must be on enormous wages and he's won pretty much everything. If his fitness was up to scratch then he wouldn't be leaving Utd, so if he is going, then I think he'll be going somewhere less strenuous.
It's not the first time we've been linked to Rio Ferdinand lately - he was linked to us in the summer, after all - but the fact remains that we haven't bid for him yet, so why would we bid for him now? besides, not only is he as habitually injured as King or Woodgate, but he's also on the decline - and his wage demands wouldn't reflect that...
