Anyone interested by it, or even care in the slightest? Looking forward to the conspiracy theories that it's fake.

Couldn't care less myself either way tbh. Yes I'm bored.

    Couldn’t give the slightest ****.

Could’ve probably fed the whole of Sudan for the money instead of putting some noncebot on Mars. ****s.

Yeah, I take a basic interest, been to NASA (Florida) a couple of times while over there. Loved it from the days as a kid of seeing the first moon landing.

I saw an article the other day, where they are looking for new astronaut recruits, the training and technical requirements are immense, you litterally have to even know how to build something out of nothing, anyone that has seen Apollo 13, will know what I mean, technical survival at its most basic. Which really is all that the ever first moon landing was, when I saw the stuff they sent up, my first thought was this never happened, so I can understand why you get your conspiracy theorists.

As the scientists said about Mars, it's not whether life is on the planet, it's about did life ever exist on it, and if not, why not, as billions of years ago it would have resembled something that should have been able to sustain life. Don't think I'll live long enough to see all the answers, to their questions.

    Pointless.

It's not even interesting either, who actually cares?

Massively offensive waste of money under the world's circumstances, eh?

I think it’s an incredible technological achievement, but aside from that, it’s just like, what’s the ****ing point?

But I’m no scientist so I’m likely missing the entire point @HR Pufnstuf to confirm.

Looks nice. When can we book space holidays and do we need to show we are vaccinated?

Weren't MRI and Cat scans achieved due to NASA and space exploration, along with eye laser treatment, even Sat Navs, many every day things we probably take for granted came about due to the tecnology and investment in space exploration. Even the air pumps you run in. Along with insulin pumps, microwaves I think, artificle limbs, fire ******ants. The list goes on, I think a lot of the technology for the internet was first created by NASA as well.

There probably be a load of new kit come about from that latest Mars rover.

I genuinely have no idea mate.

At face value it seems like dick swinging by nerds, but as I said I’ve likely missed the entire point.

I'm sure a lot of the stuff came about due to the investment of space exploration. Especially if we look at how much things have evolved from a technical perspective in the last half century, since the first moon landing.

Another example could be the TV we might be watching right now, satellite! Although what was wrong with just three channels I don't know, because 600 channels offer nothing extra.

I suppose it’s maybe akin to F1 and cars, at face value it seems like a pointless spunking of dosh, but some of the technology ends up being used in production motors. Pushing the boundaries of tech and all that, but does the actual Mars bit bring anything to the table?

Didn't know that about CT and MRI and you're right. They pioneered digital signal processing which was then used in diagnostic tools.

Sure it'd have happened anyway like but interesting to know still.

Don't know would be my honest answer. I could apply a lot of narrative to it, but that would be mere personal opinion, rather than based on fact of the actual mission now. Ie the ability to evolve and push the boundaries of travel and therefore the potential for any future existance elsewhere and Mars may hold some of those answers, from billions of years ago.
