He was awful here as chairman. His signing and wages cost the club for years and his business since quitting sky haven’t exactly been successful!

love the bloke as a person, but please don’t let him near any financial dealings at SAFC

I 100% agree with the sentiment but I'm not sure what they'd actually do day-to-day?

I'd personally rather KLD was the day-to-day owner, decision maker and executive. If he's not going to be, then definitely bring somebody in. But everything I'm seeing at the moment tells me that KLD wants to be that guy.

    Just a hunch of course.

  4. Well, I'm assuming the next key Board appointment will be on the financial side....I'm sure KLD will want that to be buttoned up.
I take your point..my comment was a little tongue in cheek, but NQ is an intelligent man,he does love us and has experience of working here. The circumstances at the minute are entirely different to when he was here before. I'm not suggesting he should be given an open cheque book, but I do think he has enough knowledge of the English game and the respect of those in the business,to be able to contribute?

  5. I think he'll surround himself with an inner circle of trusted quality, give them the framework and monitor progress.

I am very optimistic. I am sure it was on here I was saying that everything will move to data driven approach. These 2 posts that are out now are the tip of the iceberg.

Each to their own mate. I wouldn’t touch him with a barge pole tbh. I love the bloke and what he did for us in his playing days. But, since then, he’s hardly been involved with the English game outside of commentary and is currently at the FAI.

Slightly away from the takeover topic and I've never visited any of the other supporters forums or gone on other clubs sites just not interested but was wondering from those who do is there anywhere out there a bunch of fans who have contributed over 41000 hits to a thread like we have on this one.
Just interested are other teams fans that interested in their club's dealings or are us lot just obsessed or slightly crackers.?

From what we’re seeing unfold here I’m thinking that KLD will have someone in mind who will be top class for any appointment for any significant role at the club.
If he wants a CEO we could do a lot worse than Cortese.

That’s next level though!! Not sure he’d come to a third division club as he’s apparently one of the best in the business isn’t he?

I'm sure he left the FAI a few months ago. Loads of internal politics, wrangling and infighting there that's stopping people pulling it out of the mess it's in, so people get sick and leave fairly quickly.

Agree both NQ and KP were top blokes when playing for us twenty years ago, I know is it really that long ago but they are yesterday's men and I've always believed in life that you should always look forward as hankering after what has gone before is a bit pointless. so its a no from me.
    Just my opinion.

We have to look at the likes of Brentford and think yeah we can do a bit of that. The size of this club means if we can get right what they've done very well at over the past 5/6 years we'll be in a very good position.

I know Speakman et al has put a lot more emphasis on the academy and obviously Brentford pied theirs, but certainly player recruitment wise. Its not an accident they keep finiding really good players to replace the quality they sell on for significant profits.

    Find, develop, sell, replace.

I am not certain. Smug was right in saying KLD wanted another appointment to help run things his way. It will probably depend on how much time KLD wants to spend here. Is it full time? How big of a roll will his brother play ?

There is some bits of the jigsaw to fit yet.
