Isn’t it more likely that some agreement will be sorted out of court before it goes all the way thus removing a lot of risk on both sides.

 

And if Mike Ashley was suing it would be Mike Ashley v PL in the High Court.

It is Newcastle United v PL.

 

Mike Ashley doesn’t own the club. Nufc (ltd) owns shares in another company which owns the club. I could find the details but I don’t have time.

If the arbitration is by nufc ltd (which houses the club) ok I accept it’s not compo. If it’s the company that owns nufc (which houses the club) then it could be.

Exactly what legal entity is the arbitration with?

 

Look at Facebook and Australia.
Australia have currently banned Facebook.
Facebook cannot sue Australia for the value of Facebook going down.

 

Is it Nufc ltd (houses the club) or nufc b ltd (that owns Nufc ltd).

Thats the key.

It’s complex. No individual actual owns the club. A company owns the assets of the club. Another company owns that company which is owned by Mash. I am looking to see now.

In any case I just am not sure about the arbitration. Let’s say I’m skeptical of it’s intentions. It’s Mike Ashley we are talking about here. Nothing is ever simple.

Shell companies cannot use the PL's process. NUFC is owned by St James Holdings who have zero relationship with the PL.

If it was compensation it would be Mike Ashley/ St JamesHoldings v PL.

 

Right so. Newcastle United football company ltd (00031014) is the actual owner of the assets and players etc of nufc.

That company is 100% owned by Newcastle United Ltd (02529667). Which I think is owned by Mash.

So which one is the arbitration in?

 

Also people are confusing the Mike Ashley football related issues with business.

Newcastle United Football Club Ltd, the entity being sold is owned by St James Holdings. Everything goes back to MASH.

St James Holdings/ MASH as shell companies cannot use the PL's own arbitration process to bring claims for compensation as they are not the member club.
