This is a typical response in the arguments over KLD on French forums. "Il a toujours dit que l'OM est son club de cœur. Il se prépare intelligemment dans l'espoir un jour d'en devenir le président." Which translates, in my drunken state, as, 'He's always said Marseille is the club in his heart. He's cleverly preparing himself in the hope that, one day, he can become our owner.'
There's one really good chippie from memory and a little beer garden at the pub overlooking the harbour ... ... could be the Ship or the Star, can't remember. We once walked from there to Bamburgh Castle on Christmas morning and were too cold to walk back, absolutely frozen. Went to the George Hotel in Alnwick for Christmas dinner, our best ever.
They obviously haven't heard the Roker Roar in full flow - once he experiences that he'll be all ours!
Dreadful timing this, I've no beer in and all the wine has gone. Thank God I found a couple bottles of Port.
Went there in feb with our lad fishing off the pier froze to bloody death cracking meal in the pub over looking the harbour though ( caught bog all though )
All 5 cans went without me noticing, there has to be wine here somewhere ... we're surrounded by vineyards ffs. I'll be back .... ... Edit: Found a bottle of Chardonnay that should get me through, if not I'll start licking the paste off the back of the wallpaper.
Feels like we are finally on the cusp of something good happening to our club, Short despite his failings did deliver 10 years in the top division, the latter years were painful though. Hopefully we get back to the prem and establish ourselves as a club that deserves to be there, we always seem to be in a promotion or relegation battle. Onwards and upwards, just wish a couple of family members & a good mate of mine were around to enjoy it, I’ve had a few beers and done a bit reminiscing tonight, emotions running wild and hope they are all looking down happy with what might be ahead. I’ve raised a glass or 7 to absent supporters tonight, KTF !
Bottle of Bushmills whiskey opened. Present from the father in law who’s a mag, but he genuinely likes us to do well. He even offered to drive me to Wembley in our last play off final appearance. I may drink the bottle
Very good article on our new owner in the Mail online and some good photo with his girlfriend, mum, and sports personality like Lewis Hamilton, Floyd Mayweather amongst other. Warning there is a photo of Donald and Salmond pants if someone want to hoy it up
Looking from the outside, to me Short had cash but clowns running things for him. Couldn't manage to break even with all that Sky money. The lack of professionalism and standards were perhaps the problem Poyet could not put their finger on. Bad, lazy culture from top to bottom. Moreso top I'd guess. Others here may be closer to have seen how things really were, but hopefully totally different ball game going forward. Demanding excellence in every role.
The playboy billionaire who has bought Sunderland aged just 23 https://mol.im/a/9275339 And people are starting to take notice!
In honour of KLD, I’ve had fower cans of Kronenbourg 1664. Not keen on the stuff but it’s cans and it’s french. Plus I love their advert with Cantona.
I didn't know at the time but I was at the wedding* of 'our Oligarch' on the Cap d'Antibes and KLD's mam was a guest. I don't know if she attended but I was in charge of allocating the wedding presents to his various houses in the UK, France, Russia, the yacht etc. Those he didn't want, most of them, were sold off. (One was a German staff car from the 1930's I've mentioned before.) Looking back through my files I can see she gave a gift of a large jade figure of a Pekinese type dog. I've now lost touch with the boss so I can't approach him for an introduction ... ... or can I, what harm can it do. * https://www.maxim.com/rides/russian-tycoon-superyacht-motor-yacht-a-2016-09
