It's trust fund / inherited money. From what I've heard already from people at the club, he doesn't like other people's opinions and it's his way or nothing..... Sound familiar?
Could become a feeder club for French team Olympique De Marseille, the lad's mother still own's 5%. They have some serious money and have good sporting connections, the lad's late father was CEO of Adidas. Maybe the club needs a clearout of deadwood.

Being a massive millionaire at 24 is quite easy if you inherit it from your dad.Which doesn't mean he will not do a good job there.TWT. Can't understand why he didn't want us, with our closer proximity to London.
I genuinely prefer people who aren't born liars, arrogant, devious, duplicitous, obnoxious, disrespectful twats; no matter what nationality or colour they are nor where they made their money. Unfortunately that rules out our current owners.
Forbes estimated his mother, Margarita, to be worth approximately $5.6billion dollars in August of this year – giving the family some real spending power. Some reports have suggested that Kyril has a trust fund worth in excess of $2billion. https://www.sunderlandecho.com/spor...ho-has-sealed-sunderland-afc-takeover-3139458
Another reason why it's important for us not to blow this seasons opportunity of bouncing straight back up? Sunderland will make it back up and it looks increasingly like it will be next year (assuming they don't make it via the playoffs this year). They've had their clear out, they've regrouped, and now they have the backing, and they've still got their level one academy. So quite possibly only 1 auto place next season. Of course, it doesn't always work out as expected, but if I were a betting man.
According to TWTD it's actually about £30m and it involves Marcus Evans writing off his debt (currently £100m). Another club benefitting from being half an hour from Heathrow.
Bargain. One club town/ loads of potential support, rich history/tradition and success as a football club. Nice ground, absolute bargain at that price.
