Just listened to Kennedy and he says the PIF are not interested in buying nufc if they get relegated.... He also shot down suggest that the EFL test would be easier to pass because they're all aligned with the premier league test.
He is forgetting one thing. The EFL test would not involve piracy. It is an easier threshold to pass. I like Kennedy but when it comes to the law he is having a mare.
I think what would happen is yes maybe it’s easier to pass in the elf but when a promotion happens the PL test kicks in. Not sure what happens then mind?
It's just the next thing the fans are going to tell themselves.. From human rights not being an issue to piracy to the WTO report and now they're telling themselves being relegated won't be. It is.
Except it is not. The EPL's test has a lower threshold than the PL's. That is borne out by the number of charlatans who have been allowed to buy clubs. The EFL and PL are mutually exclusive organisations with their own separate rules. Liam Kennedy has lulled people with zero knowledge of the legal aspect into believing that the EFL criteria are the same. They are not.
But surely they would then have to apply the tests? How that works is beyond me mind. There are the following scenarios: We stay up, all hurdles removed, pif buy us for 300m. We go down and pif still buy us for a reduced rate with possible clauses to fill the gap of money lost to Ashley on future promotion. Same as 2 but just a lower price. Ashley would just have to accept that as he lost his stupid gamble. We go down and someone else takes us over for a significantly lower fee. We go down and PIF are not interested. Ashley stays and we are ****ed forever. Any one of the above is possible if your honest with yourself.
For ****s sake - based on the letter they published publicly saying they weren’t interested in buying it anymore.
