Just read BristolPost apparently our wonderful board + Ashton, don't have anybody in mind FFS, what the f*** have they been doing for the past month? it's almost like Holden's sacking has come as a shock to them. Suggestion is they think Howe maybe too good for us, Pearson might not want it. The best one was Cook was deemed not the right fit culturally (whatever the f*** that means) and that he might not have changed since, perhaps they thought being a scouser that their hubcaps were in danger. Appleton was then bigged up and his friendship with golden balls, Mark Robins has admirers on the board. Somebody on twitter worked out Ashton earned 64k between the sacking of LJ and anointing of Holden. I'm sorry to say this club is seriously f****d up.
I'll wager it was a lot more than that! That figure of £64k in 7 months, equals approx £110k a year, I reckon MA is on at least twice that as a CEO of a Championship club.
LJ was sacked July 4th and Holden anointed in early August barely 1 month, I thought it was longer as well.
Sorry, I read it as the gap between LJ and DH being fired, hence I thought £64k over 7 months and £110k a year couldn't be right. If it truly is £64k in approx a month, that shows how f***ed up we are as a club, as SL will spend that much on a CEO, and penny-pinches by employing junior, and; therefore cheaper managers, such as LJ and DH.... Obscene!
Gregor MacGregor @GeeMacGee Some early names we're hearing include Paul Cook, Michael Appleton and Russell Martin. Our understanding is that the club is looking for a more experienced manager this time, ideally though. Nobody lined up. #BristolCity don't speak to people behind the head coach's back.
Strange choice if true given he was sacked by Monaco after 20 games and poor results and performances. So he went to hone his managerial skills in the MLS And I thought we were bad...… Mind you if they do appoint Henry then it leaves Jonathon Woodgate free. Um, no thanks !
Just mentioned that in another thread. three promotions three titles lots of experience wrong culture. zero promotions less experience got the job!!!!! whats the culture they are looking for??
Interviews are a total and utter bullshit waste of time. For us they are only designed to stroke Ashton's ego and show applicant's from the outset, I am in charge, you will do and say what I tell you and when it goes wrong, you will be blamed. They should zero in on the candidate that they want, tell him their red lines and ask him for him for his red lines and if they really want him they need to realise the way they have f****d up so far doing it their way and give a different way a chance, especially over signings, that is truly a shambles and has been for far too long, you only have to look at the **** brought in so far this season and to me Ashtons finger prints are all over them.
Keep sniffing for truffles in the forest of the lower leagues Steve - one day you might find the next Pep or Jose, but the likelihood is you won't after applying the same search method for years without one turning up......... Meanwhile, proven truffles sit on the shelf in the local shop.......... EDIT - Actually, Pep or Jose wouldn't work for Ashton, so SL can't POSSIBLY want one of those calibre managers. What DOES he want then? Why not go ALL the way, cut out the middle man and make Ashton the manager?
What DOES he want then? He wants to get to the Prem on the cheap, and employ unsuitable people to try to achieve that year after year using second rate players. Or am I wrong ?
