Useless manager but by the sounds of it he's getting the full season. Listened to Kennedy and he made it crystal clear the club told him Bruce's here all season whatever the situation
Like Mike Tyson used to say - everyone has a plan till I punch them in the face. Impending relegation will concentrate minds.
TBH I'm past blaming Bruce now, Ashley makes the decisions. Bruce didn't sign off on £40m Joelinton, Bruce didn't force our best players to miss a large chunk of the season with Covid - look at ASM win stats with and without him in the team, we are basically dependent on him and Wilson who is now out as well - how many games have they started together this year? How many have Fraser, ASM and Wilson started together - probably our best front 3? Bruce didn't take the job on expecting to get relegated, he's just a really really **** coach who is living every Newcastle fan's dream. Blame Ashley, Bruce is incompetent but it's Ashley letting him muddle his way through the season, you could say he should walk but tbh I think he will if it gets to a point where we are almost relegated with 2-5 games to go.
https://www.themag.co.uk/2021/02/th...as-no-say-at-newcastle-united-deandre-yedlin/ I really enjoyed reading this as it makes it clear as day that SB is just a lacky. Taking the heat from us and the media but actually just another puppet. No wonder he’s not been sacked. He’s only there to take a ****ing hammering while the other idiots make all the calls. Do I feel sorry for SB. Do I ****!
After yet another defeat on Monday night at Chelsea, making it 11 defeats in the last 15 games and only two wins in that run, Steve Bruce was questioned as to how it made any sense to let DeAndre Yedlin leave Newcastle for nothing in the middle of a relegation fight. With Manquillo now set to be out for the rest of the season, Emil Krafth set to start every week and the Swedish defender yet again woeful, the worst player on the pitch at Stamford Bridge. He hasn’t suggested in any game of the few Steve Bruce has chosen to play him in that he is Premier League level, very slow and so poor on the key opening Chelsea goal. Steve Bruce defending the DeAndre Yedlin decision… “Look, he [Yedlin] was out of contract (at end of June 2021] and we had three right-backs at the club. “So we made the decision [to let Yedlin leave for nothing and not replace him]. “You have to make decisions. “We had to make way for somebody else to come in. “I have got no regrets.” So then, hands up those of you who think that it was Steve Bruce that made this decision on Yedlin, that he (Bruce) was perfectly happy with it and that he (Bruce) indeed has ‘got no regrets’ whatsoever. DeAndre Yedlin in December / January was playing ahead of both Manquillo and Krafth, so why would Steve Bruce suddenly be happy to get rid of Yedlin, especially in the middle of a relegation battle. Steve Bruce says Yedlin was going to be out of contract at the end of June but what relevance has that? If Newcastle United had received a significant fee then that at least would make some kind of sense to sell the USMNT international now, but to just give him away in the middle of this relegation battle, what manager (or head coach) would choose to do that???
Means going to a back 5, but he's I agree. We're in a relegation fight, so I couldn't care less about possesion. We've got the players to be effective on the counter
Recent performances suggest we have enough to stay up, even with that useless right back playing. Is there anyone at youth level who could step up and at least be a defender? Can't possibly be any worse as Krafth doesn't do attack or defence
Bruce is 100% complicit but there's one man who has got very little flack in the last 12-18months who deserves it way more...
Bruce might be the first manager in history to be in a relegation fight but actually believe he is not ACTUALLY in one. The only manager who whilst in a relegation fight appears to be doing a very good job and we are somehow lucky to have him. Wouldn’t it be poetic if we lose against Manu and he actually did get sacked straight afterwards. Then Rafa swings by and saves us. Special mention to the Lee Charnley who appears to be getting away with murder in all of this currently.
