That made me laugh out loud! Especially funny when it got to the Hull accent, because when we visit our son, who lives in the mid west, I’ve given up on trying to get them to understand me in the shops, I get the Mrs to talk, otherwise she has to translate for me ffs, it really pisses me off because I didn’t think my accent was that strong.
Half the country seem to think 'something' has a 'k' at the end of it. In America I've often been asked if I'm an Australian, cheeky bastards, I have no criminal record!
I was going to put this on the RIP thread, but thought better of it. £sd 'died' 50 years ago as of yesterday.
It's one of those silly little things that irritate me ( even though I know it shouldn't) much like when the BBC say "and now for the news where you are" you can watch it anywhere in the effing world!
My Niece was born on Decimal Day and straight away there was a dull daily reporter waiting for a girl to be born, asking my Sister if she was naming her Penelope. Hows that for insightful reporting? Oh yea she named her Donna.
No idea where to plonk this - but what the hell. First time I've seen it - I'm sure many of you will have done before - but what a player this lad was. I detect a little bitterness in Stan's demeanor, but there were a lot of excellent players when he was strutting his stuff, and maybe he was a little naughty, which tarnished his progress. Best, Marsh & Bowles. Wonderful entertainers in the game. Bill Bradbury (HCAFC) had a similar attitude to the game. Waggy was close.
Tragic The ****ers that caused this should spend the rest of their lives raising money to help the person disabled due their selfish actions
Morons. And never mind in a lockdown These Twats who do stupid things like go up a maintain in flip flops cos it was sunny when they started should be left to die
You might not believe this now, but genuinely as I was coming down Ben Nevis (fully kitted out with decent boots, maps etc) some knobhead passed me one the way up wearing flip flops! It was really sunny and warm at the bottom. I forgot to mention to him the summit was a foot deep in snow!
Actually there is fundraising page for him Getting towards £500k which is a drop in the ocean considering his needs and loss of future earnings etc https://www.justgiving.com/campaign/Chris-Lewis-Support-Fund-LDSAMRA-Patterdale-MRT
