It might have been based on a true story but there were some rather fanciful embellishments.

I still loved it, as I said the art was in the actors
and the different parts they played to create something I personally thought was excellent.

Did you see the first episode? There was a dirty fat ****er on there who was literally a waste of skin, they should have just put him down (I know you could make a decent case for putting them all down, but that one had not one single redeeming feature, he was crying out to be put out of his misery).

Can't beat a fanciful embellishment, especially if it involves Lily James.

No missed it and definitely won’t be watching it on catch up
Couple of right creeps on last nights
One quite aggressive about it and he should be left alone to do what he wants as he doesn’t believe in laws
    Sickening

The new Tom Hanks thing is pretty rubbish IMO... but then watching a Tom Hanks film you know the end game pretty much anyway...

Just feel that they missed a trick is all.

A decent producer could have tweaked a few things.

A missed opportunity to create an exciting action movie about archeology.

Put the subject on the movie making map for once.

    Something like this:

Hitler believes that the Viking burial ship will somehow make his Navy invincible and change the course of the war. The Ralf Fiennes character gets wind of this, probably while shagging, and digs deep down into the hill in order to locate the ship and, umm, store it safely under the British Museum or something. The Nazi's are one step ahead of him however and have laid a load of booby traps like poisoned spikes and giant rolling boulders an' that. Fiennes escapes all that, with the lead pretty bird on his arm, but the Nazi's find the burial ship and tie it to a U-Boat. As they drag it out to sea, a spiritual apparition wearing the Viking helmet sinks the entire German Navy and the burial ship drifts back to shore.

Inexplicably Fiennes and his bird are on it and disappear under a tarpaulin, and with him muttering 'this ship's now gonna feel the heat for the second time in seventeen hundred years', the final credits roll.

Now tell me that wouldn't make a better film?

Completely agree RT. "Unbelievable" is indeed a truly brilliant series, which will grip your attention throughout. It is the true story of a young girl who was an early victim of a serial rapist, and who was disbelieved by the police investigators and was incredibly charged by them of making it up and found guilty in court. Subsequently a series of similar brutal rape cases occurred in the Western US, which brought two female detectives, including one played by the amazing Toni Collette, into the case, with surprising consequences. The young girl who plays the first victim is incredible. Watch it...you'll be glad you did.!!!!

Not being a film/movie fan, "Groundhog Day" is really not part of my life experience experience (if that makes sense?).

Anyhow, there seems to be a significant contingent of film/movie/movies-for-TV series fans on this forum, and having just randomly read the attached article,I'd be interested in knowing if any of the punters on here can relate to whatever the guy is getting at in his article. This seemed like a suitable thread to shoe-horn it in. No doubt, I'll be told not in very short order !
