Amsterdam Marathon on Sunday - Anyone running it?

I am, it'll be my first marathon so I'm excited and worried at the same time. No idea how I'll do so based on my half marathon PB of 1hr 41mins I've set a target of 4hrs.

The reasons behind picking Amsterdam for my first marathon are simple;

• Its a nice flat course
• The finish is in the stadium with the final 400m ran round the track
• A lot of big names will be there
• Its only £70 on a flight from Leeds-Bradford
• I have a made doing his PhD out there
• After the run I can go out and get utterly spannered

If anyone is there and spots a handsome gentleman striding along with a smile on his face then feel free to say hello

 

Ill give you a tip, dont smoke anything before you start running

 

or get the bus.

 

Does that mean the whorehouses are closed for the day ?

 

Aye thats right, thousands of people visiting the city for an international sporting event and the gas cookers decide to shut for the day.

Every other marathon makes a point of racing past iconic city sites, just figured that local TV wouldn't be looking to show ****faced Johnny and his muckers stepping through a shop door with his cock out....

I think its along the Amstel River, not sure though as I was more interested in where the aid stations are located

It'll be on Eurosport anyway, so that kind of coverage is standard for that channel.
